Ford won't do that except on a case by case basis so far, so you're stuck paying for a premium care warranty that also does not cover the clutch pack from what we've been told by the ESP people so far, despite its functionality as a torque converter analog, and is controlled entirely by computer unlike in a normal single clutch sliding gear manual transmission.

I am experiencing the same issue. Dealer says there is no problem (or more accurately, no resolution, but many complaints)

I find with car on slight incline, accelerating from 30 to 40mph when it attempts to change gear, there is grinding noises. It is not easy to recreate so dealer test drives and cannot hear the issue.

It sounds like damage is being caused.

Any info n fix would be appreciated
After 11 months of issues including my car having the transmission rebuilt, I traded my car in for an ST. Ford was nice enough to help me out so my confidence in the brand has been restored. Love my 6 speed! Thanks Ford!

Does anyone saw the new dual clutch assembly? I did, looks like i never saw anything in my life, same as mechanic who did repair on my trany. as i mentioned in previous posts, they swaped clutch and after 230miles all came back as before. I will be honest it's not exactly as before, it's little better. So they have to look into it. All new fords have getrag trannies, maybe these people we have to go after.
After 3service appointments I gave up, I either will extend warranty if possible or trade next option. Done with ford.

Not all Fords have Getrag transmissions, only the Focus (DCT), and the Mustang (MT-82), all other Fords use Ford designed or Ford/GM transmissions (6F35-6F55 automatic). A tranny is a transsexual, i.e. some one who is not who they pretend to be, a transmission is used to transfer rotary power from the crank shaft to linear power at the wheels.

Ford/Getrag built the DCT, but LUK made the clutch pack assembly.

The throw out bearing is the bearing used to release the clutch.

Its two clutch disks together, with the larger one on 1/3/5/r and the smaller inner clutch on 2/4/6th gear. Springs to return the clutches to their open position, and screw type actuators to actuate the clutch from fully open to fully closed.

Hey BigFuzzyArchon,

Consulting with your dealer is a great first step. I'm also happy to step in and do what I can to help. Send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, mileage, and daytime phone number; I'll get your regional Customer Service Manager involved and they'll reach out to your dealer to collaborate on a solution.

Have a great weekend!
Crystal
