Ford won't do that except on a case by case basis so far, so you're stuck paying for a premium care warranty that also does not cover the clutch pack from what we've been told by the ESP people so far, despite its functionality as a torque converter analog, and is controlled entirely by computer unlike in a normal single clutch sliding gear manual transmission.

Does anyone saw the new dual clutch assembly? I did, looks like i never saw anything in my life, same as mechanic who did repair on my trany. as i mentioned in previous posts, they swaped clutch and after 230miles all came back as before. I will be honest it's not exactly as before, it's little better. So they have to look into it. All new fords have getrag trannies, maybe these people we have to go after.
After 3service appointments I gave up, I either will extend warranty if possible or trade next option. Done with ford. |

I was referring to new dct, on my old clutch assembly says getrag. Btw I saw somewhere on this forum, people been saying about thro out bearing. Is it have something to do? I wish I could post picture of the clutch to you guys, looks awfully complicated. |

The throw out bearing is the bearing used to release the clutch. Its two clutch disks together, with the larger one on 1/3/5/r and the smaller inner clutch on 2/4/6th gear. Springs to return the clutches to their open position, and screw type actuators to actuate the clutch from fully open to fully closed. |

Consulting with your dealer is a great first step. I'm also happy to step in and do what I can to help. Send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, mileage, and daytime phone number; I'll get your regional Customer Service Manager involved and they'll reach out to your dealer to collaborate on a solution. Have a great weekend! Crystal
