Focus Didn't Pass First Emissions

Why do you have to undue the tune for going in a dealer for? If they hook up their IDS & say your tune has rear O2 senser delete, its going to be flat line instead of bouncing around.

I thought that the second O2 sensor being deleted would be an auto-fail.

Nope. I have passed 2 yrs ago with straight pipe and no rear o2 and with a tune

Doing a emmissions test what do they do? Plug into the obd2 & check for code's? If that's all they do, that w/ a tune & the 2nd o2 senser is off, & no code's, than you'll pass.

Yes they did the obd test and have me rev at a certain rpm for 15 seconds if I remember right. I think they had a sniffer but lol I made it. Now this july I have to go through it with an engine build and turbo

here in ny is different, much like pa. you must pass emissions, and a tune on the car would come up as a car not readyto pass obd2 readings.. you must remove the tune about 100 milrs before going to get it to pass you must also have no cels after removing the tune which is why he put the rear o2 back in

Not true , the "tune" it self will not cause any emmission pass or fail issues it depends on what is turned on or off in the tune

If things like EVAP , rear o2 is turned off then that will cause a readyness not complete , turn these back on and the car should pass with a tune in the car

really? because thats whats been holding me back on getting a tune.. i always thought that it would come up as readiness not complete if i got a tune just for an intake and exhaust with agressive shift points for my atx.. so i can indeed get a tune for my exhaust, intake and transmission and it wont come up under a readyness not complete?

I passed with a tune no problem. As long as there are sufficient systems "ready" per say, and you don't have a CEL on, you'll pass.
