2003 SPI serpentine belt area noise
My SPI has a grinding noise right in the serpentine belt area what could this be and is it bad to keep driving it

It could be anything that runs off the belt.AC pump,power steering,alternator,belt tensioner.You might want to take the belt off and run the engine to make sure its not something internal like a water pump or timing belt.You will have to narrow it down and get it fixed before it causes more damage.

I have the same problem. It makes a noise like a bearing is bad. Change the timing belt tensioner, serpentine belt idler and tensioner and the noise still there.
It does it while the car is accelerated in neutral. Ones the car is running, you can hardly hear it. |
