You are one of the only other people I've seen that has no issues with the factory light output. I have been really surprised with how many people complain about it.

I'm wanting projectors with HID's because I want them... it's as simple as that. I will be doing very few things to the car, and this is one of them. I have no problem with the current light output, but I think the black housings and projected HID's will just look a hell of a lot cooler.

For those of you that have HID's in your fog lamps, does the heat cause an issue? I don't want to melt my housings.

How much about are you looking at to do a HID conversion. Im not sure if I want to do that or just get better bulbs in the current headlights.

$30 for the 35watt, $40 for the 55watt plus shipping. I think the bulbs are under lifetime warranty. DDM Tuning.

So all I have to do is get HID bulbs then? Nothing else?

No you need the HID kit, then there is lamp error you need to fix with either resistors or something I did was add an engine bay light. No more lamp error.

Sounds costly and annoying. I'll probably just stick with the brighter bulbs.

After reading this thread everything seems quite clear. The only question I have is that will I need one resistor link or two? If the unused plug is the only one causing the issue then only one resistor would be needed. However, in the OP's wiring explanation it says that both sides have a resistor.

I use resistors on both sides without it you have a chance of getting the dipped bulb fault from time to time.
