I would love an answer to this question as well! Pretty much the only thing my car doesn't have that I wanted is cruise control. If there is a way to install it after the fact AND it actually work, that would be great! Well, okay the other thing that I really wanted was SYNC but it just wasn't in the budget. :-(

I never received much of an answer from FORD. I even PM'd the customer service account that frequents this Forum and they never answered. Not impressed with the knowledge of the dealers when non-Ford people(Merruse) know more about this than they do.

btw- thanks for all of the info you provided merruse.

I hope to find out more some day.

I just added after market (www.rostra.com) cruise control and it works like a dream. No reflashing of anything. Pretty much plug and play. Check it out.

Can you post a link to what you purchased? I went to the site but I don't know enough about this stuff to decipher it on my own. I'd love to add cruise but not at a huge expense or with something that takes away from the beautiful aesthetics of the interior of this car.

Dondi, would you mind me asking how much the cruise control cost ? I couldnt find a price list on their website. Im interested in adding cruise and putting in heated seats on my S model.

Rostra is the manufacturer. I bought mine from Summit Racing Equipment (www.summitracing.com). http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RPC-250-9612/ Cost about $285 plus shipping (about $15.00). Do an online search for "Rostra" and the part number "250-9612" to find other venders.

I have links to install photos on another thread. Do a search for "cruise control."

While I know about the rostra option from a few forum post but I really don't like the idea of making a hole to mount the stock to the column.

I am really interested in knowing if just adding the steering wheel and reprogramming the ECU works or not? Can anyone please post a confirmation of this route working?

If it does can you please provide step by step instructions so that I can print them out and either do it my self or have my dealership do it?

I done that before but my car was diesel. And wiring should be different from US specs.
