Since I'm on a roll...is there a pinout for C238 like the one you posted for C626?

I couldn't get the glove box out, so I didn't find the C238 connector yet.

For those looking for the puddle lamps:
On my car, it appears that pin 22 on the passenger door module is the input and pin 6 is the output. The female connector at pin 6 does not have a mating male pin in the door module but pin 22 does. I don't know if pin 22 serves any other purpose but there is definitely 12v at pin 22 when the door is open and the dome light on; there is no voltage with the door closed and dome light off. Pin 6 & 22 are both brown with a yellow stripe.

Pic of the passenger side door module connector:

The 12v for the puddle lamp goes right to the mirror connector on the drivers side...strange that it is a dead end on the passenger side.

Wylee, thanks for all your hard work. PIN 22 is listed as "SWITCH-POWER WINDOW DRIVERS#FRONT PASSENGER UP". This is on the passenger door module, PLUG C652B. PIN 6 is not occupied because that is for a module with puddle lamp capability and has a different P/N. FYI, PIN 7 is for heated mirror output and everything in the mirror is grounded through the door modules. In this scenario, PIN 18 is mirror ground. All this is just the passenger door. Glove box has five screws if I recall and one of them is hidden underneath the panel on the side of the dash.

btw; Are you getting anything at PIN 7 with the rear defrost on(orange/wht)?

I'm not getting anything on the white/orange wire on pin 7. I was hoping to find the brown/green wire terminated somewhere in the door but there are no connectors after the harness enters the door and no brown with green stripe wire.

What color does your information say pin 22 on the passenger door module should be?

Yeah, kinda went through this months ago to no avail. PIN 22 on the passenger door is listed above, Power Windows Up.

What color? Power Window up doesn't match what my voltmeter indicated. I wonder how many different harness versions there are.

I'll have to order the factory service manual CD.

This is what I have been using the past few days.

72 hr access is like 10 bucks, a month is about 20. I only had 72 hrs so I saved as much info as I could to image files.

It's pretty much the exact thing the Ford techs use.

I acquired a complete wiring diagram for the 2012 Focus three months ago. What I've learned is like most new cars, CAN bus can be a nightmare when it comes to adding features like heated mirrors or puddle lamps. In cars with door modules, interior lighting is controlled by removing the ground source,(12+v is always present) through the dome light supervision circuit. Unfortunately, the mirrors on our cars are controlled by applying voltage through the BCM and door modules. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, everything in the mirror is returned through a common ground in the door module. Not saying it can't be done.

I'm giving up on puddle lights. Since they are only available on cars with modules, I don't see any way to easily get them working. I bought the 72hr service info access and after reviewing the diagrams, I doubt pin 22 where I found voltage related to the dome lights was anything more than feedback from something else. I only tested with a voltmeter so although I found voltage, there probably was not any significant current.

I'm now confident I can have heated mirrors. I was able to get the glove box out today and found C238. Pin 23 on the fusebox side has a brown/green wire and pin 23 on the door side is empty. I used my test light and found there is power to pin 23 when the rear defroster is on. To further test that I had the correct wire, I pulled F47, retested, and got nothing.

The side that has power to pin 23 is on the left in this picture. C238 is slightly askew in the pic because I haven't reattached it to the side wall yet.

My plan is to try to find pins for connectors C238, C339 and C340. If I can find the correct pins, getting power to the mirrors should be pretty straight-forward. If I can't find the pins, I'll probably drill out one of the unused pin holes on C339 and C340 to get an 18ga wire into the door.
