Adios, so long, goodbye

Well, once again, I am leaving the Focus world. I am fairly sure I will not return again as I have in the past.

It was time to move into something that fit my lifestyle (and me) better. I traded in the Focus this past weekend for low mileage Ford Flex.

I will still check in from time to time, however, I will be a member over at Flex Fanatics forum as well (same user name).

As most people have done, I thank everyone for all the useful information this site contains - it is a great online community!

~Peace~

Adios, Been happy to see you here - stop in anytime.

Best of luck with the Flex, it'd be interesting to hear your impressions of that & how it works to fit your needs.

Cheers

Thanks folks!

I will stop in from time to time, as the Flex forums are not as active as Focus Fanatics.

Sailor ~ My biggest concern was the decrease in mpg (and therefore my increased cost in fuel)..and what those true world numbers would be. Thus far, on my first tank , I am averaging 25.4 - much better than I had anticipated. (I was figuring 20-22 mpg).

I highly recommend a test drive in a Flex to anyone - it completely blew all preconceived notions and expectations I had about it. Handles like a car, rides like a Cadilliac, sits up with a view like a truck/SUV, and 83+ cubic feet of space with room for 7 if needed.

Previous to driving the Flex, I had looked at a Dodge Journey, Lincoln MKX, drove a Ford Edge, and looked at various Subaru's. Even thought about the Toyota Venza. Part of my reason for deciding on the Flex was the comfort of the seats and the large amount the dealerships were willing to drop the price. (It also helped I found two identical Flex's and pitted the dealerships against one another to get my sale).

Flex is a sweet ride. Did you get the ecoboost?

I'd love to step up from my focus to a flex... but going from a $18000 car to a $30,000+ car is a big jump and a large hit to the budget. Some day when I have more than 1 kid I might make the jump to that or a transit connect wagon 7-passenger... not sure why but I really like that van.
