Try to get a set of spark plugs and a valve cover gasket. These items will be removed to replace the timing belt (spark plugs don't have to be removed but makes it easier). It would make sence to put new ones back in.

The water pump IS NOT run by the timing belt on this engine from what I am looking at in the tech manual. you will need coolant though. get at least 2 gallons. You can always return what is not needed. I also would not replace the water pump unless it is leaking.

Okay, maybe I can help out a little here. You will only need about a half gallon of antifreeze. You will need to get a new valve cover gasket (with grommets). Use the timing bar and pin and by all means.............CAUTION: The camshaft must be held stationary with an open-ended wrench or a suitable pair of locking pliers. Do not use the alignment tool to hold the camshaft in position or damage to the camshaft may occur.
This is important. If you can get a crescent wrench with a reversible jaw, it will work perfect for this job. Like this one......http://www.amazon.com/Industrial-907.../dp/B0012YDS7A. If you guys need any help, let me know. I can't be there in person, but you can call me if you need anything. BTW, the water pump is easy to change while doing the t-belt, change it. Otherwise, 10k down the road, you'll be going through the same procedure to get to it.........easier to do it while you have it torn down. I would recommend changing the serpentine belt as well, if you haven't already.

^^^ Thank you for the help. I am just refreshing my memory before i jump into someone else's car. As for the coolant, you will not loose much just by replacing the belt but if the water pump is replace you will loose much more.

They only recommend replacing the pump because the Timing belt it in the way of replacement. Since you will already have it off, just easy enough to go ahead and replace it then.
