I've used Guinness before in both steak marinade and rib mop (never tried it with chicken though, chicken is pretty light and it seems kind of heavy for it but who knows, might be good, maybe I should give it try). I don't really drink the stuff but it worked well for me for that purpose. I should probably step outside of that and try other brews for the same purpose. Problem is, when I have one I like I don't know if I want to see it go into a marinade as I'd rather drink it!

Hell of a time/mile commitment (though a good excuse to drive your Focus). Still, with that kind of effort, TitaniumStick better make you one amazing damn steak!
1/4 cup for the marinade, then I get the rest + another! Works out to my advantage, as I usually only drink 1 if I'm not using it for marinades.

I, also, only drink one at a time. Though sometimes two get opened, but that's just when I'm planning a hot-swap...
