Any updates with using iPhone 5 with my ford touch? Texting?

It won't work until MFT supports it. We'd need a new version that supports the iOS 6 version of the MAP protocol (or lack there of). Currently you can just receive texts. I can find the post if you need to know how to do that part.

I use MFT to receive the text. If I really need to send one while driving I ask Siri to do it for me.

Every time I try to do that Siri effs up the words. I guess I suck at speaking english.

not sure where ur from originally but if u speak w/ an accent (and american english one, not british or other foreign) siri often has probems... i find that w/ californians' non-accent and most accents in the american n.e. siri works ok.

But when you receive it will show up on the Screen?

Sure does. The messages will show but it won't clear the notification on the phone so unless you touch your phone you will get a second audio notification that you have a text. Minor annoyance only.

ford are with contact with apple about this. gm made a deal with apple which it up with ford. i think there will be a sync update soon to sort the issue

I saw the Chevy spark commercial that had Siri integrated looked pretty cool. Would be nice for ford if they had it too.

It's actually caused by the mic issues in the Microsoft Sync system. That "air tunnel" that people hear when you talk to them is to blame for the inability for Siri to understand you. Don't believe me? Try using Siri over Sync at low speeds (less than 30 km/h) and note the difference from driving at 60 or 90 km/h. The root cause is a shotty factory install of the Sync mic in the roof of your car. Crap engineering. If you take to your dealership, they will tell you Ford is aware of this issue but there is currently no fix for it. They agreed to call me when a fix is available.
