Lucky you! The only ethanol-free fuel I have access to is av-gas, which is a bit too expensive for a dd.

I've noticed that I've gotten good results with Shell. But alas, no completely ethanol free stations near me.

Isn't av-gas 100LL which means it would kill your catalyst anyhow?

100 octane low lead aviation gasoline still contained much more lead than was allowed for road fuel, besides modern cars aren't designed to run on any leaded fuel

When I get out of the Phoenix valley on a trip, I can sometimes find E0, and usually get about a 10% increase in MPG's, the same as it has been in the last four cars I have had. The 10% ethanol, in ethanol contaminated fuel, is just an inert filler, and one big lie and needs to go.

I used to be able to get no ethanol gas, and can agree the mpg is better with no ethanol. To the tune of several miles per gallon.
Ethanol is a scam.
Now the entire area is ethanol only.
Pity.

Can't you folks get it through your head that the E0 is not the same gas as the 90% blended with the ethanol. Here in NW Iowa we have E0 87 octane and E10 89 octane. The gasoline portion is all the same( no sub-octane crap) and we don't see any 10% hit on mileage. If I wouldn't feel so guilty supporting the oil companies, I'd put E30 in instead of E85, and see if I could get the mileage up to 38mpg or so. I just about did a week ago but the E85 was right at 70 cents cheaper than the E0 87 oct so I didn't.

What most people are starting to get their heads around is that E10 and any other blend besides E85 is pure crap and should not be forced on the driving public, period end of discusion.

i agree... in the end we use as much fossil fuel in the production and distribution and lower gas mileage as we would if we just used reg. gasoline... and, as well, the taxpayer is getting raped over and over again subsidizing the ethanol proudcers (and the oil companies, btw)
