Right. That's why we specified 'fuel system cleanliness'.

Fuel

I just filled up at citigo with 93 with about 20% 89 left in my tank. I reset the mileage per gallon reader and it shot up all the way to 36 and this was driving on roads about 3 blocks long a peice and speed around 35 mph..I got it up to 36.2 but going in my driveway it dropped lol not sure why its only a small incline....but as far as performance I didnt nail the pedal at all so i cant really say, but the only mods I have done internally is the intake cover delete.....looking to straight pipe soon...

On my previous car a (04 STi) when I was getting my car tuned by a reputable shop efi logics in Connecticut they asked if I used Mobil gas because they had lots of issues tuning it as it wasn't really 93 octane and caused massive knocking issues at high boost. So I only use Hess or Shell.

Sorry about the double post my phone posted it before I was done.

This I may not doubt because I can pretty much feel my car pulling timing when I run the Mobil and its not in my head, at first I though it may have been. It drives totally different on Mobil gas.

I just filled up with a full tank of 89 and it seems to run a little bit better than a tank full of 87 cheap stuff. I just did the snorkel delete and started a fuelly log. Im thinking it maybe benefiical to run half a tank of 89 and half a tank of shell V power 92 octane. Having half a tank of the V power 92 would bump it to near 91 octane.

Interesting. So, since this is just a software update, is this also available for the 2012 models too? If so I'm definitely going to start having "issues" with my display the next time I'm at the dealer. :D

Yep. Any vehicle with the premium instrument cluster can have the TSB done.

See here for info.

Injected tune

Yes I run 93 Octane, I have a tuner. I see 30.4 MPG AVG. 28 miles in at night, 28 miles home in Rush Hour Traffic. I do race anything I see at a light..

I don't know if it would show on paper, but I feel like the car responds better on the 93 Mobil I put in.

I def saw an increase of around 2 mpg running the Mobil 93 versus Mobil 89.

As for that post regarding the Mobil in New York, that would more than likely be an isolated occurrence. Gas station owners are responsible for selling you what you paid for. In other words, charging you for 93, while selling you 89 or 87. It would be expensive (the testing) but you could probably get him in a lot trouble for that.

I wouldn't stay away from Mobil altogether, just try a different one. If the tuning company stated it wasn't 93 octane, they were probably correct. I wouldn't shop that particular Mobil anymore.
