Yellow/Amber fog lights
Hello everyone new to the boards here.. My question is
Does anyone know where i can buy yellow or amber fog lights that i can place where my fog lights are or to buy some sort of cover or a projector yellow light like the ones i see on lexus's gs400's.. i have hid lights but i wanted to get the amber fog lights like lexus. I'm not talking about bulbs cuz they don't look yellow.I know cuz a friend has some on his civic and look very normal hallogen color with little yellow but from far they look normal.. I don't know if i have to just buy some amber ones and i guess i would have to put them like in the middle and drill a hole down there or something to install them. I don't know i'm a noob to this kind of stuf.. That is in between the stock fog lights that i have, but i think that it would look very tacky.. I don't know anyone has any links or suggestions on what to do.. Everyone over knows a great deal so i'm hoping someone might help me out. Any help for as little as it may be would be appreciated.. thanks.. found a link http://www.slickcar.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=50 Could his work on my car i guess i have to drill holes but that no problem.Heck they might even fit where my old ones are..? The big question that i have is will my car power them right. Meaning are they thing pretty much standard?? X44

not sure about the fog light thing, but since your located in sunnyvale i have to ask.
Do you know about the Mt. Hamilton meet coming up this Nov. 6? well if not there is a link in my sig pertaining to it. We are expecting a good size meet, and since your in sunnyvale, it wouldnt be that far of a drive.

i was looking for the same...i finally found this one, it is the least expensive, and they emailed me with a six month warranty on the bulb when i inquired to the lifespan of the bulb as it is offered in only 50 watts, not 37.5... there is another bulb from another company, (google search..."899 yellow") but the bulb is about $5 -$10 or more. both bulbs are made in korea, so what's the difference? one has a warranty and is less, but the other actually has a 37.5 watt bulb... this link that i am offering you has only a 50 watt bulb. sure it may be brighter, but the factory 899 bulb of 37.5 watts has a lifespan of up to 1000 hrs. another compatible bulb is the 893 also of 37.5 watts, but it is brighter and has a lifespan of up to 300-400 hrs. i have no idea what the lifespan of this yellow 50 watt bulb is...but it shouldn't melt the plastic foglamp housing, and it is yellow, so it should properly cut through the fog. i will stop rambling now about yellow bulbs...

you could just do like lighting for a stage and put a "jelly" in the stock lamps.
you can get heat resistant translucent film in any color you want that is designed for coloring lights... thats probably what i'd do. cheap and easy DIY. |
