I found a thread somewhere, not sure if it was this forum or not. I'll try to find the link, but from what I remember they said open it up and you should see two clips on each side inside it. You may need to use a flat head but those should allow it to be removed.

There are two plastic hooks on the front, a plastic clip on each side and two plastic clips at the rear. There is a plastic frame above the headliner that these clips hook onto sandwiching the headliner in between. There are no screws holding it in place.

The plastic clips are pretty feeble looking so don't go forcing anything or you are apt to break them.

You need to push the console forward until the two rear clips release, then push it right and left to get the side clips to release. Once the clips are released you can rock the rear of the console down and off the hooks.

If you have a sun roof open it and you can reach in and get your fingers on the frame and pull back while pushing forward on the console to make releasing the console easier.

I have done it to two Foci now to wire in a radar detector.

i was wondering something myself....i hate the light grey headliner and upper level trim... does the ST or any TI models have the overhead console in black? I am debating painting all my upper trim black, but i cant paint the overhead console because of my switches there...if i paint it you wont b able to see the switch lighting.

From the pictures SilverPony posted it looks like there is a multi-pin connector up there. Does anyone know if there is a line in there strong enough to tap into for power? I want to mount a dash cam behind my rear-view mirror at some point, but I don't want to run a cable all the way around the window and into a 12v plug. I've been to chicken to open my own up just to look.

The ST has a black headliner and black overhead console.
