[QUOTE=karmakc;4904041]I like this thread. I've been trying to understand the myriad options about exhausts. From custom to high end to trubendz to eBay. Go w/ Fwerks & be done w/ it.

I have a d23 with cai and I'm considering an exhaust system under the guise that there are gains without impacting the sound quality (closer to stock in dB).Nothing is going to be quieter then what you have stock.

And as such, isn't there something such as too many mufflers? Like 2 or more may reduce any gains etc? If your racing, yeah. But for a street DD & being a 4 cylinder, some people want to quiet the exhaust down, hence add more flowing mufflers.

(Btw posting on ff is a blast from the past, I've been quiet for a while.)

Are you going to add a header? For that'd make a difference of which way to go?

No plans for a header. I'm looking to keep things(mostly) legal. For smog purposes...

Any idea of hp gains for an exhaust only? Or with a cai? Does this require a tune (for a cai and exhaust?

Maybe 2-5 hp for a cai & exhaust. I'd say those would make your car more snappier & a tune would add more drivablity or smoother. Its not critical, but a tune would help.
I'd add a '05-'07 ST mani/cat= best flowing exhaust manifold for a D-tech.
