I came into this thread with a different idea of what a 'courtesy wipe' was :X

If you find a solution please let me know. Mine just pisses on one spot with the wiper smearing it around until the top part of the wipe swipe is semi clean.

The back of the hatch is always such a mess from dirt getting'sucked' up onto it... I LIKE the fact the rear washer dumps a stream on the rear window. The rear window really picks up a thick coating of crud fast. And the stream of washer fluid is perfect as it keeps the rear blade from jusr rubbing and scratching the rear window.

A simple light spray back there and your rear window would soon have a huge simicircle of scratches carved into it.
So IMO the rear fluid dump for washing is PERFECT and totally the right thing needed.

IMO some engineer really did the right thing.

I see. Someone had mentioned the turbulence that occurs behind the car.

Now that you say that, I don't think anything but the stream will work.

It might be inefficient but it's necessary.

So does anyone know if there really is a way to remove the curtesy wipe? On my 2013 FX4 it was an option in the menu on the cluster

My issue with the courtesy wipe is when I wash my car I pick the wipers up so that way I can wash under them. Then after I put them back down, and go to turn the car on and for some reason they courtesy wipe once putting outlines on the windshield. Annoying.

I'd have that happen if I put the wipers back down in the wrong order, It seems as if the car knows which one is supposed to go down first. When lifting the wipers and putting them back down correctly- no movement from the wipers

That's not the courtesy wipe, that's you not putting the wipers back to their proper home position after lifting them from the glass.
