Installed: FSWERKS intake
![]() Piece: I bought this one slightly used but it came in perfect condition so I can accurately judge the quality. Construction is nice and you have two colour choices for the heatshield. This one was black which I wanted, but silver is also available. Fitment is great. + Install: Install is fairly straight forward. The OEM airbox has to be unclipped from its location which takes some firm upward tugs but it will come out. The FSWERKS heatshield mounts using all OEM locations, so no permanent modifications are required which is a huge bonus in my books; I didn't want to start cutting or drilling anything. This really is a direct swap. + Overall: So far, all is good. I can only comment on its appearance and installation right now though as I have yet to take the Focus for a spin with it installed. A review of that is to come. ![]() More here: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...272835&page=53

So far I like it, from a cosmestic perspective. The car hasn't been on the road yet but it will be this evening since I have a lecture to go to. Letting the car idle it is louder in the cabin which is nice, the car was too quiet before.

I'm eager to hear your review on the intake. I'm thinking about one.

As far as sound goes, it can sound stock with light throttle inputs and moderate RPMs but can also get fairly loud when you're a bit heavier on the pedal and shift later. I'm a conservative driver, and accelerating as I always do and shifting at or around 2500 it's hard to tell apart from the OEM intake.
No objective comparisons on performance but the engine certainly is peppy and responsive. I will note that an additional mounting point or two would be nice, the heat shield has more play than it should in my opinion. It'll be staying. It's still in the OEM air box.

Now just pair it with an exhaust and you'll really hear it in the cabin! :)
