Custom built ORP

What is so special about the ORP that makes them so expensive? It looks pretty simple. Two flanges with some bent stainless inbetween. Plus a bung for the MIL eliminator. I have access to all that is needed to creat something like this, but what does the MIL eliminator consist of? Can I build one or buy one separately?

Actually I just found the MIL eliminator for $40, Looks like I am going to have to build one of these ORP's myself and save a few bucks.

I dont think it would be wise of me to sell an item like this due to liability issues. But it really doesnt appear to be that hard.

Just use a disclaimer that its for off road use only and any infractions are solely the responsiblity of the end user.

I think a nice(r) ORP thats cheaper would be good. I have one already, but if there were two to chose from, it may have offered more choice..

It is a simple piece. However, its thick walled mandrel bent stainless. Stainless is very expensive, especially now since raw material prices have almost doubled in some cases. If you did all the work yourself you could make an ORP for less than $200... but if you have someone else do the work an try to obtain the same fit and finish, you'll probably spend more.

Also, a MIL elim is just a few cheap radio shack components. You can build them for a couple dollars and directions can be found on the internet.
