Wilson,
Does the Thule XADAPT9 Adapter Kit come in pairs or single mounts? I'm getting (2) Thule 516 Prologue Bike Racks for me and my girlfriends bike but I'm not sure if I have to buy (4) Xadapt9 kits or just (2) Xadapt 9 kits. Found them on the Rack attack website. http://www.rackattack.com/product-pa...sp?item_type=3

x2 Thule XADAPT9 Adapter Kit, that's all you'll need if you're getting two bike carriers (I have 2 as well).

The bike carrier already comes with mounting hardware, the adapt kit just helps attach it to the aeroblades. The square head bolts slide on the front bar and their are holes in the carrier that attaches them with the round nut. The metal rubber bracket goes around the back bar just acting as an extension. It all makes sense when you set everything up haha

BTW I ordered all my stuff from rackattack, they were pretty decent and got some fast shipping

Looking good man love the pic

Yeah, that's been discussed very briefly wayyy back when the AeroBlades first came out. Not sure what anyone did with that. But I've got them adjusted where it's not that noticeable, but yes they do stick out a tinch. I never did anything a.k.a. follow up with THULE. But it's not affected anything on my end at all. Long story short, they traveled from Florida to Michigan, Michigan to Arkansas, Arkansas to Louisiana. Never had a problem with them. I will say however, as a safety precaution on long road trips (like I did with those), every rest stop I would check to see if anything needed retightening!

I measured the distance in between the feet, (which you set up in the beginning from whatever Thule's measurements were) for the front and rear load bars first. Then I shifted them all the way over so the left would be flush. From there, I measured for the part of the load bar to be cut off of the right side.

5-1/16" were taken off the front aeroblade*
6-3/4" were taken off the rear aeroblade*

Feel like I need a Disclaimer* in that these were my measurements so measure yours plenty before just going and hacking it off as I'm not responsible for a botched effort

I wanted as much cut off with no over hang whatsoever so with me being like that I wanted to go down as far as I could lol. It's up to you
Old thread but I'm looking into getting a roof rack. Does this mean that the standard factory 47" front bar will be 1/16" too short to mount to the feet?

According to Rack Outfitters, "The ARB47 could work on the rear but not the front and Thule sells the bars in matched length pairs only."
