Select Shift is an optional feature of the PowerShift DPS6 Automated manual transmission. Select Shift allows for manual gear changes without the use of a clutch if and only if the computer determines that it won't break the car by doing so.

I loved my 2012 Ford Focus 100% until last week, when my dealer installed that infernal MyFord Touch downgrade. Now I'm trying to figure out how long I should wait to get back the properly-functioning audio system I had for the first 8 months, or if I should just forget about it and start car shopping again.

Where should I start? Bluetooth audio streaming works maybe one time in four, and when it does work the artist and song titles are missing, wrong, corrupted, or don't refresh properly. It steadfastly refuses to work with my iPod touch (which worked fine with v2.11, and I haven't changed it or its contents since); no matter what I try to play from it, it always starts playing the entire list of songs in alphabetical order. The favourites buttons on the steering wheel are b0rken, the GUI is an aesthetic dog's breakfast.... I could go on, but I need to beware of my blood pressure.

All I want is to put it back the way it was. I can't understand why that's too much to ask.

Wow, so frustrating eh?
I do know that part of one of the upgrades (or downgrades) renders the favourite buttons useless for some stupid reason.
Have you tried tapping the browse button when listening to your ipod to select the artist, album, or song from there?
With my iPod I find that touching shuffle all to on doesn't work, but if I voice command it, it does

Yup, I've tried several variants from the browse button, and several different voice commands. Each time it appears to be doing what I want, only to revert to the same mode as always, playing the entire library starting from the first song in alphabetical order. As I said in another thread, I love the French Kicks, but if I hear the opening guitar licks of "Abandon" one more time I'm going to start kicking every Frenchman I can find.

I posted awhile back about how much I liked my Focus hatch, manual transmission when I first got it. Well now I've got 5000 miles on it and have taken it on a long road trip and I still think it's a great little car. I was concerned that 8 hours in the sport seats might be a bit much, but we were very comfortable and the gas mileage was great.
