For years I had my heart set on a Shelby GT, but family economics and gas prices forced me to be much more practical. Getting my little Focus in bright yellow with a moonroof, machined alloy wheels, manual transmission, and a decent sound system has been a great compromise. I might not have the fastest or loudest car in town, but it really hugs these mountain roads and made my 23 year old daughter with a turbo WRX jealous. What more could I want!
That is grand praise indeed coming from the youngster. They aren't easily impressed. I had achance to buy a good used WRX and kinda glad I passed it up as the milage would be poor compared to the Focus and those things are are ticket collectors if ya know what I mean. I hope in the future these will be the cars that the kids collect as opposed to all the Hondas that are out there now.

LOL! May daughter's friends (all members of a car club) tease me that every trooper around is going to recognize my bright yellow car (I think there is only one other like it in the area), so I need to watch myself. After driving those big minivans for so long, I can't help but drive our very twisty mountain roads a bit over the posted speed limit!

LOL! But my daughter's friends (all members of a car club) tell me that the local troopers will get to know that bright yellow car of mine (there's only one other like it in the area right now), and since I can't help but go "a bit" over the speed limit on our wonderfully twisty mountain roads, I need to stay alert! And yes, they do envy the gas mileage I get compared to their fast little cars.

Congrats and enjoy the Focus. What transmission did you choose?

Ended up choosing a manual, I just don't want to mess with aod any more, just too many issues that require flashing.

I love my Focus, but man do I wish it had a bit more raw ride. I've been driving the wife's car too much I guess...

ahh got 1200 miles on it, new oil, new exhasut and dark window tint. My Focus is back. Although I am going to put 1000 miles on it this weekend. Atleast I will enjoy it. Missing the in dash 6 mp3 changer though. I used to have like 50 albums in my player, now I have like 8. This car brings back memories of my truck from back in the day. Same color, dual tip . . . well that's about it. I do find myself staring at my exhasut all the time now, even the picture I have on my computer. For good measure . . .

Its amazing how purchasing a car can bring on a whole new world. My Valentineís Day present (to myself) was a 2012 Focus SE Hatch; I like to call him Hatchy and to make this gift even more amazingÖI chose Red Candy. Sometime I need a little spice in life. Anyhow, this is not only my first Ford but my first American made car. I gained a large amount of respect for Ford motor Company after I learned about the Company refusing bailout money. Iím rather addicted to my Hatchy, kind of like a coffee addiction or crack. ;) Now I look for reasons to. I have had him for 5 weeks now and have been hit on several times. The best is when I was told I was as sexy as my car. I still donít know exactly what that means butÖok. Anyhow, Iím a proud parent of a Ford Focus now and loviní it.
