First Focus ever built...heck, first THING ever built!

Haha, this is probably because I just got my VIN today, there is probably no info to show except that it is a Focus and being built in Michigan.

Kysor radiator shutters is Fords innovative feature ... active grille shutters
If air is required to cool the engine, the vents are opened. If no airflow is needed the vents are shut, contributing to significantly reduced aerodynamic drag.

Mounted in the grille aperture ahead of the radiator, the active grille shutters feature motorized horizontal vanes that can rotate through 90 degrees to block the airflow. Automatically controlled by the car’s electronic control unit, the vanes can be rotated into 15 different positions – from fully closed to fully open – depending on the amount of cooling air required.

When fully closed, the reduction in drag means the active grille shutters can reduce CO2 emissions by 2 percent.

As an additional benefit, the system keeps the vanes closed as long as possible when starting from cold, so the engine reaches its most efficient operating temperature more quickly. This also helps reduce fuel consumption.

Thanks GhiaFan. I thought these were only on the SFE package. Apparently I was mistaken.

12.04.2011 (April 12th) ... so far, quality has been pretty good for the first 11k (knock-on-wood, then do a rain dance).

I read elsewhere that the build date is on the bottom of the window sticker. My window sticker says 11 23 11 (Nov 23rd) which matches the dealer's invoice which I needed for my financing. But on www.etis.ford.com it says 02.12.11 (Dec 2nd). The sticker on my door frame says 12/11 (Dec). So which is right?

Not that it really matters, must mildly curious.

My guess is the 11/23 date is when the car was put into the Que. 2/12 would be the actual build date. Just a guess.

My build date is Jan. 11, 2012! I took delivery on Jan. 27, I just think that is so cool, my car rolled off the assembly line 16 days before I picked it up!

That site wasn't working for me... I found this link http://researchmaniacs.com/Ford/Trac...CarOrders.html that had the info on the window sticker, which I could download from the VIN. If the car were parked out front I could just check the door jam... tomorrow...
