I guess I received the wrong rear mud flaps then as mine did not have the little flap shown in step 23....I can see what you are saying now about the pictures and what directions apply to what car but they are very very generic to say the least.

I had the molded ones put on my Ti hatch when I picked up the car. They are very nice and do a great job of keeping debris off the car. I like they don't look like a set of truck mudflaps.

Greg, I am sure that is what happened. As I said, there are unique part numbers for the rears - hatch (5-door) vs sedan (4-door). Hopefully, the dealer will exchange with you.

As with the front, I started by cleaning the area and applying some clear vinyl to protect the paint that will be under the mudflap.

This is the hardware included-with a sedan, the parts labeled 'G' are not used.

You will note a small hole in the wheel well liner-the small clips labeled 'H' cover these. One on each side, pressed into place. Also note in the picture below, the screw in the lower left. Each side has two of these, which first have to be removed and then put back in once the mudflap is on. They require a T30-sized Torx bit.

Once the two aforementioned screws are in, a final screw (Included, 'F') attaches to the metal clip already put in place. With the three screws in, the rear mudflap is in place. Repeat for the other side.

At this point, clean up and call it a day. Your Focus has mudflaps now.

Hi, great write up. I installed mine today. Those clips (labeled G) are used. They clip into the rubber tab and the side of the wheel well body to secure the rear splash guards.

Already addressed. That was my mistake in the initial posting.

I ordered some on line and I have the Hatch and not the 4 door. Looks like the 4 door mud flaps go back on Monday.

hey Twenty, everyone else, I don't know if this question has been brought up yet in the thread but... I acutally made a thread about the Ford mudflaps: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...26#post4524826

So my question is, will the Ford flat mud flaps (not the splash guards) equip to the rear of the vehicle as well? Or does it need modification to equip?

Can you give any instruction on this? Thanks.

Personally I have no idea. I haven't worked with their flat mud flaps, nor have I even seen any in person. Anyone else know?
