Normally it's nothing more than some torx screws and some adhesive. I wonder what's keeping these together?

I hate to add to the hi-jacking of this thread but somebody backed into my car over the summer and hit my Ti headlight & front bumper. My Ford dealer did the repairs & I didn't ask any details but when re-installing my new bulbs I noticed there was a lot more dried adhesive on the damaged headlight than before. It looks like they just replaced the outside clear part of the headlight rather than the headlight as a whole. Having said that, it should be possible to separate the headlight housings.

Thanks STL. Gives me some hope. Maybe there's just a trick. Hopefully leaked somewhere.

I'm gonna try & remember to call the body shop @ the dealership next week & ask how they did it.

3-4 years ago when I used to mod headlights for the projectors it was quite common to place the headlight in the oven and heat it to 325f to separate the two layers. By doing this the glue used to attach the top and bottom was soft and allowed you to separate the two pieces.

there should be other forums on the modding of this specifically to add the projectors which if memory serves me right we used the lexus light as donors.

I'm aware of the technique, just pointing out to Dae that it should be possible to use it. From what he said others are having trouble doing it on the 12'

Thanks again STL, I'd love to learn the trick to these. I've done several lights, didn't know these would be different.

Someone told me on the forum that the headlights are fairly easy to remove. If they will share the tip with you on how to separate these maybe I'll figure it out. And post it of course

Finally got around to installing my flaps lastnight. Ended up removing the rear wheels because I didn't have tools small enough to work around them. Will throw up some pics later tonight.

Dae - the headlights are extremely easy to remove. Two bolts hold them in. Will update if I can get some info from the body shop.
