Well, just got a call from the dealership. My car needs to stay overnight. Apparently a two bolts (or something like that) didn't come in with the parts they ordered and they have to keep it overnight as they expect it will be in tomorrow. Not sure why it took them 8 hours to find this out, but whatever.

They're sending a reservation to Enterprise so I can have a car (I just have to get there. Funny how after they asked if I had some means of transportation for tomorrow they didn't ask about me actually getting to the rental car agency). Completely slipped my mind to ask if I was going to be the one paying for it, but my ESP says it's not something I pay for so worst case I make them reimburse me. Here's hoping for a neat car.

Hah, yeah, I suppose I could have, didn't think about it. Oh well, I was able to get a ride. Anyways, ended up with a Blue (Sonic?) 2012 SEL (no MFT). It drives so much better than my car it's not even funny. It has ~6000 miles and door sticker says it was built 12/11. Enterprise charged the dealership, but still required my card to be on file for security purposes (makes sense). Hopefully I get my car back tomorrow and it drives nearly as well as this one.

unlike a year ago ... we now have options to see what a "current" 2012 drives like ... to compare against some of the "production faults" during the 2012 first year.

we should have every expectation that our cars from the "early run" should drive equal to or as well as an Enterprise rental or a new demo on a dealer's lot. [and if the first enterprise rental is a bit off ... take an option of changing out that car for another test one]

and to answer a prior note in this thread ... it is ON Topic ... to talk about options to test a "theoretical normal 2012" against what we own.

What are the chances of success on this fix working? My dealer seems really hesitant to do it (its in the shop now, they said they would "look into it"). And they said there is no guarantee that TSB will even fix my issues.

3/19/12 Build Date

I rented a Titanium 5dr in Canada which I put roughly 1500 miles on in 2 weeks. Liked the car so much I bought one last week. The rental I had did have some DCT issues in stop and go traffic. The one I bought seems ok as far as I can tell after all of 300 miles. With a build date of 3/19/12 are there any TSBs I should be aware of???

Welcome. Wow, so Ford's relatively high presence in rental fleets has paid off for them; they snagged your sale because of it. I'm sure that's what they're hoping for.

I'm not aware of anything more current than the January TSB for builds before early December. And if it's performing as you expect, I wouldn't have a TSB applied anway. Don't fix what ain't broken. But don't think you're home free yet. My shudder started around 300 miles.

Maybe I'll see you on the road. We go to Holmes Beach once in a while.
