But power to weight ratio is about the same. The Elantra was 200 lbs lighter in PM's testing.

So there you have it. Not much gains with the DCT. BUT, I personally like the Focus better over all and actually LIKE the DCT better to boot!

Another way to look at this is the larger displacement engine of the focus is using a little bit more fuel at a given speed vs the Elantra. Therefore the DCT is helping to provide the fuel economy that you are getting there is a 10 to 15% difference.

Yeah, I'll shut up about it now. Just kind of wish they would've invested the money into a state of the art 9-speed auto like the upcoming Dodge Dart instead of this hunk of *#$*&()*

Ha, and I won't be annoyed with it too bad once my shuddering problem goes away or is fixed.

BTW, I'm a lifelong Ford guy and still love the car! Looks great and solid on the road.

I've recently come back to Ford after 23 years. Got burned by them years ago. Thought it was time to buy American again. Glad I did. Get your transmission firmware update.

BTW, the grass is always greener over the septic tank. 😁

Good quote.
One thing that seems to help is to do hard accelerations once in a while from stop, then back off when it shifts into second and drive normally. I do this on my car if I feel a bit of shudder coming on. Seems to work, most of the time I just drive normally.
