When they enter your VIN, all that will come up are recalls and never TSBs. TSBs are discretionary based on the problem encountered by the customer and replicated by the dealer.

Thanks, I was wondering about that. Wonder why he pointed that out to me then. I asked specifically about the transmission TSB, and all he said was "there are no TSB's." Anyway, we'll see what they say once the service team has looked at it.

If you have any problems, I can set you up with my tech at Team Ford. He knows exactly what to do.

My dealer was very accommodating. I was scheduling my first oil change and simply asked for 12-01-04A TSB since my car was built in September. The service manager said no problem and set my appointment for 2 hours max but it only took 1.5 hours to do both. He verified they had it downloaded already and it was ready to rock.

I have to wonder why some dealers are very accommodating and others resist working with a customer re a TSB.

I think they're lazy.

I'm glad that mine is very accommodating and knowledgeable. I suspect most dealers are. It's unfortunate that some are not doing their job.

It took me 3 dealers to find one that I consider worthy to service my vehicle.

It's finally done!

Well, I finally got the update. Even though I gave them the driveability issues they still wrote it up as a "customer request" rather than a warranty. As the drive home was mostly highway I'll have to get back to you all on how it works.

That and the fact they are stupid, as well! Never before had I had something turned down like this in my life. They have no problem replacing a $500 alternator on my old 2007 Grand Marquis when there was actually no problems with it. The TSB update is just not profitable to them! I could understand business wanted to be very profitable, but not at the expense of customer service. When something does break under warranty, it will cost them a lot more.
