I felt some of that too when I first drive the car home. I could feel lower rpms and the car felt as if it might stall any minute. But, it did not. And, three weeks later, I drove it and "it's lost that stallin' feelin'".

delivered to dealer Monday night
Tuesday they had to "download" software.
Picked up Wednesday midday:

"reprogram trans shutter performed TSB 12 1 4 reprpgrammed PCM and TCM, performed adaptive learning procedure return to customer to drive will need to drive for at least 1000 will go through a relearn period"

This was on a 4/1/2011 build ... initial drive positive ... more reactions if anything goes askew.

At my Ford dealer where you pick your car up its a incline. I swear when I put it In drive to leave, I thought the E- brake was on. Top notch service. No hassles what so ever.

Also ... noted when put into drive, now does move forward like old time ATs and needs foot on brake.

Prior you didn't notice a forward surge when put into D and if on slight incline would drift back.

From what I know, the update reprograms the transmission control module, which I think does put it back into learning mode, so you will have some rough shifts for about 100 miles or so (could be longer). But I guess in a way, you want this because you want the transmission to "relearn" its shift strategy, plus with the update, the computer is given new shift points, I think.

The techs will plug their "service computer" (my term - not sure what they call them) into your OBD II port and check the current version of TCM/PCM software. If it is downlevel, they will update the sw with the latest code. When they do that, the car is "new" again and they have to perform the adaptive leaning procedure. The whole process takes less than an hour.

I pissed off everyone behind me pretty bad, they probably thought I just wasn't paying attention at the light.

Just made an appt with my dealer today, will post an update when I get through with it!
Update: Dropped off car this morning, when the guy at the dealer punched my VIN into their system, no TSB came up for my car. Curious to see what they say once they have a chance to look at it. Doubt the issue will come up in a test drive since it happens so infrequently, but I want to make sure it doesn't happen again!
