It is no charge to the customer. It is under warranty. The 150 would be charged as warranty work. It does take over an hour so it may well be worth 150 to your dealer. But, you should not pay for it. It is warranty work.

I've been getting a rough grinding sound between shifts. Originally I was told nothing was wrong. Then, I was told I needed an update. The update was performed. Nothing related to the sound changed. Now, I'm told nothing is wrong again. Even after listening to this recording, they tell me I haven't demonstrated a problem.

That sounds horrible! Similar to my downshifts before I got the TCM update. If they say that's alright, go to another dealer; because that's bull.

The problem is probably that you asked for the update. You basically have to complain that your car isn't working, have them find the update (which they might not), and then they MIGHT do it for you.

Seems like an awful lot of work, considering the first way YOU did all the research. But, that's the way warranties work.

Has anyone get any idea that TBS thing only apply to US? Because I bought a 2012 focus in September, I wondering my car need to do the software update or not. Cheers.

When was your Focus made? If it is before 8/13, you can get the update. By the way, it is called a TSB!
