TSB 13-04-06

ISSUE:
Some 2012-2013 Focus vehicles equipped with a DPS6 transmission may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2832 shift fork A performance and/or P2837 shift fork B performance stored in transmission control module memory.

ACTION:
Reprogram the powertrain control module/ transmission control module (PCM/TCM) to the latest calibration using IDS.

My daughter's Focus has been at the Dealership since April 5th. They are replacing the clutches among other things. I previously posted about her catastrophic transmission failure. ("Transmission Malfunction, Service Now", and the car died on the roadside.)

This morning she was told parts are still on back-order, and they do not expect to have them until the week of April 22nd.

While we do appreciate the level of communication from the Dealer, as well as Crystal from Ford, this is extremely frustrating.

Are others encountering delayed repairs due to back-ordered parts?

I went to etis.ford.com and input my VIN # and it didn't show anything unusual. Is there somewhere else to see if my car is affected by the TSB or should I just call my dealership? I do have the DCPS 6spd transmission.

edit: I registered for the etis.ford.com site and it allowed me to view more information: I went to the "diagnostic" tab and then "dct decode" and typed in P2832 and then P2837 and here is what it says:
DTC Results
Below is the information about the DTC provided.

DTC Display name: P2837
Definition: Shift Fork B Position Circuit Range/Performance
Manufacturer: Ford

Display name: P2832
Definition: Shift Fork A Position Circuit Range/Performance
Manufacturer: Ford

so is this DTC (diagnostic trouble code) something that the car will tell us or must we take it into the dealership and ask them to run a diagnostic?
I need to take my car in anyways to replace a stereo mask part. Should I ask them about this TSB and DTC?

Thanks!

I'd call the dealership. It can't hurt to talk to a Service Adviser about it. (They'll need your VIN.)

it seems the technicians don't like internet know-it-alls, if you know what I mean, so I just wanted to hear someone else input before I bother my technician again. And as far as I know my car is running fine. I've only had about 3-4 studders/jerks since my last fix (clutch/seals + reflash) about 50 days ago. Are there some kind of symtoms from this apparent "problem" a non-technician can detect? thx
