It is newer, and Ford says that, if it isn't competed in a reasonable amount of time, the warranty will not cover damage that may result. What that damage could be is a question, but the short answer for you is definitely have it done. Other than an hour or so in the shop, there seems only upside to doing so.

Jee Wizz ... just two weeks ago when I brought the DCT dog in for a consultation with my SECOND service center, the service manager said FORD TOLD THEM THAT WAS THE BEST THEY COULD DO .... I guess they forgot to tell everyone that there was a 12B37 two weeks ago ... so ok I get to RENT a car for another day.
Got my letter today ... I've got NINE DAYS to get this done ... for the magic cutoff date of May 31 ... But I did get one new clutch job two months ago. That makes me feel a lot better. duh.......... as it says in the letter "The time needed for this repair is less than one-half day. However, due to service scheduling requirements, your dealer may need your vehicle for a longer period of time" FORD is CERTIFIABLE nuts. I'm thinking someone out there is talking a class action suit. put me down ... |

OK ... you're right ... that gives me a lot more time to get this fixed ... still I think I will try to get it done to see if it works ...
take my name off the class action suit list. Ford is not as certifiably nuts as I thought earlier today. |

Like you Red2012 I had my Ti in for service (Recall and Steering TSB) right before the FSA 12B37 came out. I went in at lunch (1 hr.) on Friday and had them perform the update. Awesome improvement! I barely feel the super smooth shifting!

and they had to reprogram the BCM, perform tsb 12-02-15 because two of my three keys decided to not be able to start the car .... duh .... good thing I had one key that was able to start car so that i didn't have to have the turkey towed 30 miles to the dealer. Their DCT note: verify slight noise going into second, updated per 12b37, road test still heard noise" "Note technician performed PCM TCM and ABS reflash per 12B37, road test and spoke with hotline, concern seems to be characteristic of vehicle" this was with a cold engine ... the real problem is with a hot engine after a lot of stop go city traffic ... the 12b37 upgrade on Red 2012 had no noticible effect. I am waiting for some hot weather now that we are in RI for the summer. In Naples we were in 80+ degrees and pretty heavy traffic most of last 3 months. and the DCT got worse the more it was used in traffic. they put 9 miles on in a low traffic area ... barely enough time to get the transmission up to its problem temp. I'm at one year and 7841 miles. I don't think 12B37 is the final answer by far. So far 1 clutch job, 2 DCT upgrades, and one CSP [Customer Satisfaction Program] recall? ... I wouldn't recommend this DCT to anyone. this car is NOT a keeper. |

Perhaps they did not perform the update properly? I found my Ti to be much improved before having the 12B37 FSA update done, after just having the Steering TSB applied. Try removing the negative lead from the battery to reset the computer, and see if their is an improvement.

Just got my letter in the mail yesterday.
Not sure when I'll have a chance to take it in. My dealer has a habit of keeping my car for an insanely long time (9 days last month to fix the sunroof and install a new APIM) before offering a rental car.

The update is documented at .6 hours so once your car is in a bay, it should not take too long.
