You are correct, sir! Pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery should wipe out the cache and allow you to reinstall your iPod. Of course, if you disconnect the battery, that wipes out the system clock and trip meters. (I'm sure that's what the tech did this morning, by the way.) I performed a Master Reset on mine and it didn't do diddly-squat except give me hope for a minute before dashing my foolish, foolish dreams.

I haven't tried the AAC gambit, but that sounds interesting.

I take it you mean "reset" via fuse or disconnecting battery only? I tried a Master Reset on the unit, and there was no change with iPod via USB, although the iPhone4 seems to be playing nice again via Bluetooth.

Anyone have any experience with the Sprint Samsung Epic 4g touch? Everything works great for me but I can't figure out how to get/send SMS messages.

Looks like you are currently out of luck on the SMS/Text messaging features.

Don't worry though, neither does my iPhone4.

Crum! I just saw where this posting ended up. Sorry for posting in the wrong string. I'll try to find the right one! Please delete this posting.

(sigh)

I've had my 2011 Focus SES for a year and a half, and have been successfully using the Sync system with my iPhone 4 and iPod 16 GB Nano for that time. Been very happy with it, until the past couple of weeks.

Just as a little background info: both the iPhone and Nano are formatted and loaded using Mac iTunes.

Recently the USB port (the Nano) has started glitching. I can use voice commands to change playlists, or albums, or artist, ...etc, but the music just does not play. Nothing has changed on the Nano. No updates, no trips back to the Mac. The display shows the change of artist and song, but the time played stays at 0:00. Pressing Pause/Play shows "Pause" on the display then continues, but no change.

Phone still works fine, and plays audiobooks from the Audible.com application through Bluetooth Audio.

I've read through this entire forum string, and considered the various solutions offered here.

I have:

- Reset to factory defaults. No change.
- Reset using the Master Reset. Nope.
- Pulled the fuse for a few minutes and restored all settings. Nada.
- Downloaded and installed the latest software update. Poop. (Note: I never did get the second "Installation Complete" message that the instructions said I would after 4-5 minutes. I waited 10 minutes.)
- I brought my Nano in and hooked it up to my Mac and reset it, then reloaded. No help.

Unfortunately, we don't have a Ford dealer in Juneau. None I can drive to.

Anyone have any helpful suggestions? I am stumped.

Steve

But that list says my phone is compatible, based on the code SPH D710, which is what it says on the back of my phone/on the box/in the manual.

Finally got my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch to work with text messaging. Through the system settings, I turned MAP on, then shut the car off and shut bluetooth off on my phone. Then I turned bluetooth back on and started the car. A message popped up on my phone asking if I wanted to allow sync access, clicked yes and now it works no problem!

Did you install the Performance Upgrade yet, Mike?

In regards to your navigation system, try removing and reinserting your SD card. Your SD card slot is either located in the center console
or behind a small access door in your instrument panel. It's spring loaded, simply press the card in and the system will eject it.

If you're experiencing missing or incorrect map data, it should be reported to our supplier, Navteq:

http://MapReporter.Navteq.com/dur-we...ER&language=en

Feel free to reply via PM and include your VIN. I'd like to confirm which software version is currently installed and document any concerns you're experiencing. :)

Why won't this system recognize an iPod?
