If Ford really would NOT fix this terrible update just because we're rightfully complaining and venting our frustrations, then THEY would be considered UNprofessional. They have a financial interest to make MFT right unless they want more bad ratings in the future. They need to stop cutting corners and do this right once and for all!
Reading some of the specific problems 'you' have had since the update, I expect you are justified in using this term. I have been very critical up here so I am not trying to police or discourage those that wish to voice their dissatisfaction vehemently. Just hoping it doesn't get so shrill that we drive readers away.

The first thing she said is "who made your car system ugly?". Then she said proceeded to find 5 glitches, without me even prompting her. A woman that knows as much about technology as the Amish found 5 glitches on a 15-minute ride, while 300 Ford beta testers spent months on the system and found nothing. For that very reason, *ALONE*, I refuse to give Ford the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not really giving them the benefit of the doubt. It's just that my experience tells me that remaining respectful (even when it is undeserved) will generally get you farther than implying people are morons (even when it is true). I think your posts have been near perfect: Specific and intense without being over the top.

LOVE the viewpoint/story of your mom.

Another thing that worries me is that many of the problems I experienced with the old version didn't really start happening for me until after a few weeks of owning the car. I know some had issues from the beginning but mine was relatively well-behaved and after 5-6 weeks I got my first volume lockup, that was when it started randomly telling me my iPod was disconnected while it was connected and playing music, and so forth. If some of these other issues are plaguing people already, makes me wonder what thing are going to be like two months from now. Could go either way. I guess time will tell.

I was a graphic user interface designer for 4 years and although I can't say the new improvements are ideal, I think they are for the most part, better. Though I can't say how much more improvements could be made because I don't know the hardware and OS resources that Ford has to work with. I would say its a step in the right direction, but they certainly could tweak some things.

Right now, I'm happy with the interface, but the NAV could use a lot of work/options to help people customize the maps so they are more readable at a glance.

The voice controls are very limited and each command should have more alternates to catch all minor variances. Additionally, there should be general commands that apply to all screens (page up/down, select, cancel, back, etc). If i forget a voice command, I should still be able to navigate the screen by voice.

The bugs are the big negative for me right now. I'm happy with the performance of the interface, that is if the interface is working.

Thank you very much :)

And I wasn't really speaking about you when I talked about giving the benefit of the doubt. There are a few users here that just continue to say "Give them time, they'll fix it! They're doing the best they can", and that really irks me. Ford isn't doing the best that they can at all...they're doing the minimum they can without having to spend too much money.

In business there's always the "do the best we can, up to the cost/satisfaction ratio". That approach is understandable...but in this case, satisfaction is *very* low. Heck, Ford went from #1 to #15 in a matter of weeks and the only reason most reviewers decided for this was the MFT system. A rational leadership sect would put full strength into improving the *one* thing causing the downfall, but instead they put time into it without consideration. Now we've ended up in a different position on the same level of satisfaction.

Hey everyone -

I have good news! Depending on your vehicle software configuration, the Performance Upgrade is now available on the Update & Customize page on the SYNC Owner website. For Navigation-equipped vehicle owners, if you choose to download the upgrade, please note you will have a non-functioning Navigation system until you receive the new SD card by mail.

PM me your VIN and I'll look into this.

Were you able to complete the install yet? PM me some details, I'd be happy to look into it further.

The temperature display has been moved to the drivers right-hand cluster display.

If anyone has questions, let me know.

Only way I could fix it was unplugging it and plugging it back in. It's weird because it was displaying the songs in the correct album order, then playing them in alphabetical order. I've never seen that before.
I noticed something similar with my iPod. Even though shuffle is selected, it plays music in alphabetical order. The only way to get it to start shuffling again is by selecting "play all" either in the menu or with the voice command.

Hey Jaclyn, is Ford aware that there are indeed many more bugs in this newly just delivered update and will they resolve to continue to make improvements as time goes on?

I haven't upgraded yet since I'm waiting for the Nav SD card, but I don't have many complaints about the current layout. My complaints are about stability and functionality. Really, other than the screen staying on overnight and the bluetooth audio working intermittently, my only real gripe is the Nav.

This is, by far, the worst nav system I've ever used. Particularly the voice integration. It never, and I mean never locates a nearby POI even though it's clearly listed in the directory. There are so many aggravating requirements to do anything, that I find myself using my android 90% of the time.

Since very few folks have the new Nav upgrade, it's hard to know how that has been overhauled. Stability wise, it sounds like there are still issues with it.

I understand how everyone is upset with how awful MFT has been and continues to be, but the extra $795 spent on the Nav is what's killing me. As is, it's all but useless, particularly while driving since the voice controls suck. I assumed in this day and age a navigation system would be decent, but as far as I'm concerned, it is by far the worst part of the MFT implementation.
