Just picked up my car last week, hope I am on the list! I'll hold off loading stuff as it sounds like it is a clean install and wipes previous data.

Could the days of MyFord Suxs finally be over? It will nice to finally use my system properly. Not sure why they can't offer the update on Syncmyride.com?

Called my dealership last night for laughs to see if they had it yet and I could come in soon for the install. They said they got 1 USB on Monday to update the cars they had on the lot and it wouldn't do me any good anyway because my old Nav card wouldn't work with the upgrade. They weren't expecting their updated Nav cards until later in the week and even then they were only expecting a few.

Someone over at syncmyride got lucky yesterday and got the update while she was in for other service. First "real person" feedback as far as I know. No specifics but here is what she said:
"I am not sure if you will just be able to download it. Might happen. I know if you have nav you have to have a new sd card. The old ones are not compatible. They found that out the hard way at the dealership. Since I have been one of the customers with the most issues the longest they got excited and installed the update before reading everything. So they had to give me a nav card for one of the new ones they were gonna put on the lot :). Lucky me. I love the new update so far. It is what we all wished and dreamed for. I have to say i really like the new nav. Our long awaited update is finally here and I am glad they took the time and re did it right. Hope everyone's experience is as good as mine." |

Just dropped my car at the dealer to have the upgrade done! I'll be the first one in this area to have it done so I'm kind of the guinnea pig for this dealer, but hopefully everything goes well. I'll post later today to let everyone know how it went and give my impressions of the upgrade.

ok, so started phoning around all the ford dealers i know here in PEG city to see if they have or are expecting to have the MFT updates anytime soon and almost all of them had the same answer: "Updates will go directly to customers so you just wait.." and one dealership i phone even said "it will be 2-3months before we get them here in Canada"
Any other updates on the Canadian side? |
