Why have you concluded that the freezing, etc. is inherent to MFT (and not a possible hardware issue) despite the fact that many others (myself included) don't have similar issues.

The reason I ask is that the current version of MFT is (in my experience) very stable.

I think after 2 years, numerous devices, and basic common sense, it's pretty f-ing safe to conclude MFT is a piece of shit. If you aren't convinced, you must be new to MFT.

Please make an appointment with your dealer to get this resolved, mattphoto. If you'd like me to escalate your concerns, please send me the details in a private message. Also include your VIN, approximate mileage, and best contact phone number.

Take it to the dealer and good luck. My case was escalated and I spent months and months dealing with my dealership and corporate customer service. I was eventually told if I did t like it my next option was to take Ford to court over it. No resolution. MFT still a mess. The car has also had the transmission replaced now and I'm currently sitting at Galpin ford waiting for them to replace the master cylinder on the brakes. I have given up and I am just waiting for my lease to end.

How can I do a version check on the MFT system? My sync account says I need to upgrade, but when I did that via a USB stick, the MFT system gave me a series of error messages and then told me it was already up-to-date. Plowing through settings, etc, I don't see where it tells me if I'm running 3.6.whatever. Google isn't any help so far, and the Ford site assumes that your account and your MFT system are already synchronized.

I'm getting weird audio dropouts, was hoping an update would fix that up.

Hey, dielectric,

If you have v3.6.2 already installed, your CCPU number on MFT will say 13171. Here's where to go to check it:

Gears > ? HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION > CCPU S/W VERSION: X.XX.13177_PRODUCT

If your software is current, run a Vehicle Health Report to update your SYNC account with the correct information:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Let me know if you have any questions about those. What's happening with your audio?

Rebecca

Thanks for the comeback, I am indeed running 3.6.2. I'll run the health report on the way to work today.

The problem is that the audio drops very briefly, like the mute got set then unset. It isn't a popping, just going silent. It seems to happen a bit under a minute after I select a new audio source, and seems to happen on every source (terrestrial radio, XM, USB, BT, and CD). I'm trying to pay attention so I can file a better bug report.

Other than that, the system has been stable for me. Things just work, which is pretty cool. There are always tweaks and adjustments to be made, especially on a system this complex, so I'm more-or-less impressed overall.

I haven't heard of that happening to others and I cannot reproduce it on any of my test units. If you can reproduce it every time, I suggest a visit to your dealership for further investigation. :)

Mine does it for about 1 second(or less) after I start up. Seems to be around 30 seconds to one minute after start up. It's done this since I've owned it, through several MFT versions.
