I was told by a Ford rep on the Sync hotline that I should periodically turn my my iphone off for a minute or so to allow it to reset. She said this might help with Bluetooth capability in my car. I've been doing that at least a couple of times per week & it may be helping, as my phone usually connects.

My car has push button start, & one thing that has helped phone connectivity is that I press the ignition button (without my foot on the brake) as soon as I get in the car & let the MFT power up before starting the car. I seem to have LESS overall failures, freezing, etc. with MFT since I've been doing this.

Hi everyone,

My 2013 explorer has been built last week and I'm waiting for delivery.

With the VIN, I could log into syncmyride and here is the info I get in my update history:

Gen2 - V3.0.2
This new software release provides faster touch-screen response and enhanced voice recognition interaction. Graphics have been simplified and controls made easier to use. Support for tablet devices and Audible.com audiobooks has been added as well. For navigation equipped vehicles, it provides enhanced navigation maps.
This software contains all previous enhancements, so there is no need to install any other updates.
The installation of this update will take up to 60 minutes to complete. DO NOT remove your USB drive or turn off your vehicle. You must wait until Installation Complete displays on the center screen before removing your drive or turning your vehicle off.
While the update is loading, SYNC will not recognize your mobile phone or media device. Be sure your vehicle engine is running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you initiate the installation process, once the download process has begun, you may drive your vehicle.

Sounds nice...
Its already installed on a vehicle, sounds like a good sign to me
I also noted the version 3.0.2 which would suggest they have implemented some fixes to the original version already

Interesting, though I wonder why all that installation instruction is included if it is already installed?!?

Well, hopefully we are close. They do seem to be slowly replacing more and more screenshots on the syncmyride website with the new screens.

I'm wondering is it 1 piece of software across all vehicles or multiple versions which are vehicle specific. Development time and testing certainly could be impacted if there were vehicle specific versions.

I believe that has been on there for some time. No specifics, just a general announcement.

Wait. What? When I sign in on my account I get the same thing. It was telling me I would be the first to know when it was available. Now it is saying you will be the first to know DLGonzo. Damn, so much for me thinking Ford was going to tell me before anyone else.

Developing platforms that have to hook into so many different devices (The variety pf android phones and OSes being a huge issue) is very time consuming. Testing all those devices is near impossible.
