I just bought one (see sig). And the main deciding factor for me was the infotainment system. I paid extra for it.

I come from a Mercedes-Benz SLK230 just to give you perspective.
1. The focus is fun to drive although weaker than my previous car.
2. The Michellin Pilot Sport 3 that came with the Titanium handling package is phenomenal.
3. The car is quiet.
4. The car is smooth.
5. I love the overall amenities.
6. I hate that the left elbow rest seems low so my left elbow is uncomfortably hanging on my shoulder.
7. Ford customer service (at least Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood) sucks compared to the various Mercedes Benz service centers I've taken my previous vehicle to. If or when there is a defect in a brand new car you just bought, in your face they will make you feel like you are lying to them or enjoy wasting their time and yours by complaining about bullshit that doesn't exist. And then after you show beyond a shadow of a doubt the defect exists, they change their tone, "Oh, thank you so much for being a part of the troubleshooting process". After which all they have to do is call in the part and replace the defective one.
8. MyFord Trash, MyFord Torture, MyFord Aggravation Generator IS A $900 PIECE OF SH!T! The nav is basically useless because it loses its mind at random times, it thinks you're driving somewhere else and so the directions it gives you are consequently as screwed up. Just look at all the complaints about it in this thread.

Personally, and I'll get shot by saying this, I picked the Focus because for the price it had the most sophisticated infotainment system. Instead it had sophisticated bugs even its manufacturer can't resolve three major revisions into it. That said, I would have bought a different vehicle if not for the MyFord Touch. That really was the selling point for me.
9. It's a really good looking car.

If the infotainment is the biggest selling point for you. Focus your research on that aspect of the next vehicle you're thinking of getting. Make sure that it isn't as aggravating as this PoS.
You should have looked into the uConnect. I was so impressed by it in my wife's Journey. Traded in my Focus for the Dart.

Yet ANOTHER MFT 3.5.1 issue...

A couple days ago, MFT did the thing that happens to me on occasion where it locks up with a loud squealing noise. As usual when this happens, I pulled over, stopped the engine, opened a car door, and waited for MFT to reboot...

Usually, after the reboot, MFT is back to it's normal "kind of working" state (with settings all reset.) However, this time, the "1" (home) and "2" (info) steering wheel controls no longer functioned at all.

I brought the car to my dealership yesterday afternoon for that and over a dozen other issues (car is less than a month old) and they still have it. As far as I know, they haven't even looked at it yet.

My guess is that the buttons not working is another software/firmware bug and not a physical/hardware thing. It might even correct itself after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery (which I didn't try before bringing it to the dealership.)

Personally, I'd prefer if it was a physical button defect - at least then the dealership could repair it. If it's YET ANOTHER MFT issue, it might go away with a battery disconnect, but it's very unreasonable for Ford to ask a customer to open their hood, pull off the plastic battery cover, disconnect the battery, and then put everything back together every day.

I have to agree with this statement. My wife just bought a 2013 Town and Country. It has the older generation uConnect (with the smaller and lower resolution screen) but it works ALL the time with no glitches that I've found. I hear that the newer (8 inch) uConnect is nicer and is also stable.

Sadly, based on my test drives, the Dart sucks for being a car: One of my standard tests when I test drive a car is to accelerate to about 40-45 MPH, and then try to simulate a situation where I need to pass (quick acceleration.) The dart (both the 2.0 and 1.4 turbo) failed that miserably. (The engine would make more noise, but that was the ONLY reaction to pressing down the pedal.)

I'm considering a Charger, I bet that'll satisfy the need to pass.

The range on a charger is 477 highway miles, the range on the focus is 458 highway, I'd actually stop less, I'd just pay more when I do.

I hope you get that good of mpg's. I have two friends with 2013 Chargers and both are disappointed with the fuel economy, and one drives like an old woman..LOL

Like I said neither are getting that. I'm sure they would be elated if they did. I believe one is getting 22HWY/17CITY, and the other is more lead footed and is getting 20H/15C. I'll take 38H/28C any day, and if I get heavy footed still get 32H/25C.

I considered trading my Focus for a Dart, but it turns out they don't like to start in cold weather. Every car has it's issues, it's a matter of what the owner is willing to tolerate.

I plan to go back to a pickup once I am in a position to sell my house and move closer to work. I am too much of a DIY guy to not have a vehicle capable of hauling lumber from the local home improvement store.
