Not if they continue on the same path. Every new release introduces a whole new set of issues, their current development and validation methods aren't working.

I am a validation engineer by trade, we call these issues test escapes. They usually occur due to holes in the test plans (if they even have any), or lack of training. There's also the chance that they're releasing updates knowing full well that some features are broken, these would be considered showstoppers. All software has bugs, they shouldn't be so critical.

This late in the game I think they would do well to adopt a code change based testing model, or just let the open source community handle it.

However, I can't find anything directly from Ford stating this. There's no mention of this extension in any of the warranty documentation I have, and the most recent warranty's (as published on the support.ford.com website) for the 2012 and 2013 ford focus vehicles doesn't show this.

So - what, exactly, IS the warranty for the MFT on my 2013 Ford Focus? 3 years or 5 years?

Thanks
Gary
It's 5 years on the APIM. If you go to this website and put in your VIN it will show 12M02 which is the extending of the warranty.

Interesting - I have nothing like that on my 2013 Focus Titanium when checking on etis.

Then again, unless Ford clearly documents (in plain English) that the warranty is extended, it's probably just false rumor.

No it is true. They announced it when 3.0.2 was released, reiterated when 3.5.1 was released, and I received a letter a couple/few months (February I believe?!?) ago stating it in writing.

No, they won't. It would require tearing the existing system out, designing an entirely new unit and then installing those into the thousands of existing cars with the older units with the costs in the hundreds of millions of dollars. They would rather fight it in court and never pay a red cent. That's how the Big Three do business in the U.S.A.(Unsatisfied Suckers of America)

Their hardware is probably fine, a software fix isn't that expensive. If anyone thinks they'll do a ground up software change they're smoking dope. The best we can hope for as a halt of new features and a series of updates that are only bug fixes.

Yes, they will. Hopefully I'll be able to say "I told you so".

".(Unsatisfied Suckers of America)" ouch, that's kind of like flying the flag upside down. JMHO.
