This system is so embarrassing the way it locks up. The new update can't come soon enough!

This!

I've run across all sorts of fun in my 6 weeks of ownership and am sad to admit it does seem to be getting worse with time...

- Try to switch to USB (an iPod that never leaves the car) and it'll randomly cause a Nav SD fault - which kills Nav (it usually re-acquires the SD, though not always) and causes it to no longer connect to the iPod. A very random sequence of unplug USB, re-plug, unplug, re-plug sometimes fixes it. Other times it never works until a full MFT reboot.

- Phone sometimes dials on first try, though usually I have to say a name, it'll say it's dialing but I immediately get a 'Call Ended' and then I have to re-dial to actually connect the call. Now that could be a Sync/Bluetooth issue, but it's still quite annoying.

- Bluetooth audio works for a while, then just stops sometimes when I get back into the car and MFT turns on. Acts connected, sometimes even activates the audio (I can see it start playing on my phone) but nothing comes over the speakers. That requires a random selection of reboots as well.

- Preset labels are a whole mess of random on the home screen. Usually I lose the HD/MHz tags on FM presets after switching sources (Sirius, BT, etc.) a few times. Never come back until a full MFT reboot. Or, when I use Sync to switch from FM to Sirius, the FM presets remain on the home screen. Only way to get the right ones to appear is switch sources quite a few times using the screen, i.e. Sirius > FM > Sirius > FM > Sirius. Eventually the right ones show up again.

Still like the car, but this MFT update can't come soon enough!

Why doesn't anyone like my reboot app trick? :( It's the single greatest thing I've discovered in MFT-land. My fuse is virgin.

My fuse is also untouched. I've been pretty lucky in that when it gets really bad it rebots itself.

i found a weird fix, and don't know if anyone's posted about it yet. my MFT freezes pretty regularly. but if you have a CD laying around the car -- if the system freezes up - insert the cd and it will switch to the CD player and start playing. then all other systems become fine again. it's super weird, but fixes any run ins i've had with the system.

I used the thumb drive method this morning. Worked like a charm.
For me, it seemed to boot faster than the fuse pull I had to do 2 days ago.
Very annoying and embarrassing to have to go through this within the first week of purchase. I was showing off the car and the radio froze, even with the ignition turned off and the door opened.
Thanks for the link :)

since my fuses are starting to get worn out, and I just saw your trick now, I have it loaded onto my jump drive and will do it next time MFT and my Razr stop playing nice (IE, before the weekend is over)...
