I was out in the driveway last night running a master reset. I hate master resets but I am pretty sure they didn't do one after the install and I am noticing some quirky behavior so I figured since I didn't have much to lose in the way of presets and Nav favorites I should do it now instead of later (I did run a reboot after the dealer install but some things still seemed a little "off"). Just wanted a fresh index built, a reload of of Nav, re-pair of the phone and so forth to be sure.

Anyhow, while sitting in my driveway setting everything back up after the reset I noticed that down on the bottom menu bar, just to the left of the "i" information icon (but in the menu tab setup, not in the ent tab) was a wifi icon. It seemed to recognize my home network. Didn't have a lot of time to play around but I don't ever recall seeing the icon with 2.11 or 3.0.2 when I was out dealing with the system in my driveway before.

I'll first apologize to all of you who'll be quick to say it but yes, I did search for this and could not find where it was posted (I'm sure it has and would be completely surprised if it hasn't yet).

Now that its been offically released, can this "thing" finally move away from CE and up to a much better RT platform? As this latest effort actually seems to be a nice piece of work by MS I would love to see it massaged and load onto our MFT's.

Any thoughts or ideas (or points the the thread where it already exists)?

That was definitely there before. It allows you to turn your car into a hotspot. It's pretty pointless IMO.

Agreed, that would have been nice.

The only part of this is the processor. I believe RT will only operate with a specific processor. I don't know what's in the MFT.

I knew that ability was there before (and I agree with the pointless part) but I just didn't remember ever seeing an indication that it recognized it right upfront on the home screen like that. To be honest, when I saw it I thought (well, hoped) that maybe, just maybe, they were moving towards building in functionality to install over-the-air updates (well, one can dream).

Anyone out there know how to get MFT to switch from thinking it's in the states? I'm in Canada and my weather comes up as an American community close to the boarder. Same situation with the ski hill finder. There's a ski hill about 20 minutes from my place and no luck with getting it to show up.

Weather radar, ski conditions, sports scores, movie times, etc. are from Sirius traffic/Travel Link. AFAIK they are still not available in Canada. There is more here:
