Well, if you want to try it you can download it here:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1257774/tsb12-11-01.pdf

I don't use a Zune so I can't speak to that. I got it dealer-installed last night (I have nav and needed the new card) but have not had enough time with it to really judge if it makes a big difference or not.

My biggest issue is the BT audio. It is unusable at this point. My wife borrows my car once a week now and I can finally hear what others have been complaining about. It's a faint hum throughout the call plus it sounds as if the window is open all the way. There is so much extra sound it makes it almost impossible to hear the actual caller.

Since I got it installed last night, I called my work # this morning and let it go to voicemail. I kept randomly talking and played around with raising and lowering the phone volume in the car while I did this. I listened to the message when I got to work and it was not great, regardless of the volume changes. I had never tried this before with other versions so I don't really know if it is any better or not. I still need to make a couple of calls to people that have complained about not being able to understand me in the past to see if they notice a difference.

I think they just used cheap mics that don't have noise cancelling on them. I don't think any software updates will ever solve this issue.

Stryker,

I'm in the same boat with regard to the Handsfree system. When I took delivery of my car the MFT was on ver 2.11. I was pretty excited about being able to make and receive calls from my car but I was told pretty quickly by those on the other end that the quality was horrible and asked multiple times if I had my windows down. Which I did NOT. I'm on 3.22 of MFT now and even have a different phone (Iphone5) and the call quality has NEVER improved.

I have to confess that I don't expect 3.5.1 to fix this and I have taken this issue to my Service folks and they claim there wasn't an issue by testing it with their own phone while the car was sitting still in the parking lot.

Maybe the Next car I get will have a working Handsfree.

FWIW - I installed a visor clip on Jabra Freeway BT Speakerphone. It has noise cancellation so when Sync mutes the sound and shows an incoming call. Instead of answering with MFT. I tap the Answer on the Jabra and continue the call. The Radio remains muted until the call ends since my phone is still paired with both devices (Sync and Jabra).

I invested in a $100 Plantronics WIRED headset for my iPhone. No one ever suspects I am in a car when I am using it. I know blue tooth hands free is "cool", but I am on the road a lot and I am sensitive to the people I am talking to. I hate like heck when the tables are turned to listen carefully to someone a bad wireless.

On the flip side if my wife calls me while I am on my way home I pick it up thru the car audio. A 2 minute conversation is fine hands free.

I had the Motorola visor BT device and it was garbage. I'll have to look at the Jabra one. I just hate that I spent all this money on my car and I can't use one of the major selling points (at least for me).

When I called ahead of the appointment they said they had the card in stock, I asked specifically for this update using the numbers listed in this thread (A4 Card for 3.5.1 update on 2012 Focus/MFT/Nav). When I went to pick up the car they said they did not have it and it will come in "some time this week" and they will need it back for a few hours (which also seems silly to put in a nav card and maybe do a system reset).

Also of note: when I set up the appointment I asked if they were able to do this update or what the latest version they had for MFT. They were unable to answer either of these and told me "you just have to bring it in and we hook it up to see if there is an update."

This dealer already got a harsh review when I bought the car and their service department is not winning any awards from me so far either...

As far as others questions:

Zune- Mine works fine with 3.5.1 and indexes faster. Still cuts out for a second about 5 min into driving, but that does not seem Zune specific.

BT calling - My call quality was unusable before the update (on 3.0.2), now people can tell Im on a "speakerphone", but can understand me clearly. This was a HUGE difference for me. Tested this with Android and an iPhone5. Anyone having call quality issues give this update a shot!

Oh yeah bigtime man!. I'm with ya. I feel between the Sync muting the audio and receiving the call and me taking it with the Jabra is at least a work around for now but basically we got screwed out of a useful feature we paid for. Yet it must not be a problem because nobody really complains about it. If you took a poll most people are satisfied with it. I know my friend who bought a newer build of my exact same car uses his ALL the time and you can barely hear a thing in the background when he speaks. He has a newer droid type phone if that makes any difference.
