Got my update done over the weekend, though missing the NAV card (which the dealer specifically said they had when I asked ahead of time...grrr). Can't test Nav until they get a new card later this week, but so far everything else is better.

The good:
  • Temp now by clock
  • People can hear me on bluetooth (YAY!)
  • Overall sound quality seems clearer (this might just be me, but it seems better)
  • Less crashes in the couple of days since the update
  • Indexing of Zune was MUCH faster (10 min or so where it used to take hours)

Still Broken:
  • Menu delay is still noticeable
  • voice commands still often fail if you don't go into a category (ex saying USB before "play playlist")
  • "scheduled" system maintenance still happens at odd times (why cant this happen when you turn the car off? instead of 2 min after starting the car...)

I will keep an eye out for any other fixes or issues, but IMO it is an update worth getting.

It would be a good thing if it did not happen in a bad part of Los Angeles, at night, with several other in the car. 45 minutes later at home and in the garage is when that message appeared.

That is not good - had I not know where to go, we would have been lost in gangland

I agree with you if the reboot really improves the MFT's performance, but I believe it happens when the system freezes because it can't handle basic commands or operations. Remember, this reboot happened just a couple of hours after I picked the car up from the dealer with the new software update.

I ask again: Why can't my '12 w/ MFT work as flawlessly as my '09 w/ Sync? Even if it worked almost as well would be welcomed.

I got it installed last night. Paired my phone and checked to make sure Nav was working before I left the dealership. Things got off to a bad start when on the drive home I noticed I was "Unsubscribed" to all traffic/travel link from Sirius. I also quickly discovered that I my volume was locked up and I could not raise or lower volume on music (which was fortunately at low volume so I didn't have to listen to blaring music the whole drive home). I could also not raise the volume on Sync lady's voice while she talking which sucked because I couldn't hear it and could not raise volume so I could hear it. Pulled into the driveway and ran a reboot. Went out about an hour later and checked. Volume control was back and I was subscribed to Sirius again (though during my 25 minute drive into work this morning, only two categories - nearby traffic and ski conditions - had loaded, the other four categories still haven't loaded after 25 minutes). Thanks goodness for the reboot app as I have been to the dealer 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I really didn't want to go back tonight!

I have an appt on Friday for my car due to the horrible BT quality on calls. I didn't even know the new version was out. Can I install it via the website or is it dealer-only right now?

I use a ZuneHD just about everyday and am concerned with some on here saying their Zunes are now not recognized. Should I not upgrade? I'm running 3.0.2.

Did you forget about us? Cause untill you all fix it right and 100% right, expect your reliability ratings to plumit. Further than they already have. I mean it is just a joke that every other gime I get in my car, my phone isn't connected, or that using the voice commands only works 50% of the time. Lemme just say, that I didn't get a 50% discount on the MFT upgrade, so why should it only work 50% of the time. Jacklyn please help me understand, because i try to stay hopeful that Ford will fix MFT right, but as every month passes, I lose a lot of that hope, and I honestly don't know how much hope I have left.
Hi, aperson9923 -

As always, I'll pass your feedback along to the right folks. In the meantime, I'd like to get you in contact with our Customer Care Team. Please PM me your full name, VIN, best contact number, and the name of the dealership you typically work with.

Have you obtained your new SD card yet, Now534?

Did they say when they'll have a card available for you, Thildemar?

If you are experiencing an issue with climate control, please see your dealership for the 3.5.1 update.

Dealer-only right now (though there is a link to it on the TSB in the other thread). If you don't have nav you could install it yourself but if you do have nav you will need a new nav card (A4 card) from the dealer and that is only if they are willing to/see a reason for applying the TSB.
