Hi Jaclyn,

Just curious: Why is a new Nav SD needed? Last time it was because Ford changed the map supplier from TeleAtlas to NAVTEQ

I only have one phone connected now, but will hook up my wife's phone in the next few days and see.
Fyi this in regards to new features in 3.5.1
I tried 2 phones out today and My ford touch now "supports" multiple bluetooth connections at the same time. Hitting the "Bluetooth Audio" button from the media screen will toggle between phones, so you can play media from either device.

I am unsure how to select which phone is able to make/receive calls through the system. I tried the following with limited success:

1) Connect 2 phones (p1 & p2). I had p2 playing streaming media from slacker radio and then I used p1 to call my voicemail. p2 music muted (it should pause it, but I don't think that is working) and p1 indicated it was placing a call, but I heard no audio over the speakers. fail...
2) Connect 2 phones (p1 & p2). I had p2 playing streaming media from slacker radio and then have p1 call p2. p2 received the call, but no audio through the speakers. fail... this actually caused one of my phones to crash as I think it go overwhelmed with both phones trying to use the phone audio.

On the Bluetooth settings screen, you can see that 2 phones are connected to the system and if you click on "info" for each phone there is a toggle switch to allow BT Audio streaming from that device.

My guess is the last phone to connect to MyFord touch gets to use the phone features, but not 100% sure on this as it did not really work. Logically I would have thought the phone marked as the favorite would be the device used for out going phone calls and receiving calls should have worked on both devices. I would think there would be a toggle button somewhere to allow you to switch which phone you use from the phone menu, but I have not found it yet.

Another feature I noticed was improved is the navigation for exits is slightly improved. If you are taking an exit and the exit has 2 lanes, there is now green arrows in both lanes, previously there there was just 1 green arrow in the right lane and then it would switch to the left lane after to you took the exit (assuming the next direction was go left). Not sure why they don't just put the arrow in the correct lane to start with, but at least you know it could be the left or the right and pay attention to the signs closer.

If anyone gets the dual bluetooth working for voice calls, let me know as this would be nice feature. I used 2 BlackBerry's for testing.

Enjoy!

I had the new TSB installed 2 days ago. Haven't had a chance to really check out the new MFT but I got the dreaded "Performing Scheduled System Maintenance" message just a few hours after the update.

The biggest issue I've always had with MFT is that it crashes during times when I make frequent stops, getting in & out of the car to run errands, etc. It doesn't look like this new update has solved that problem.

The frustration here is that the Sync system in my 2009 (Gen. 2) Focus has always operated flawlessly. I have never experienced any crashes & my phone always connects & disconnects without any problems in that car. Why can't my 2012 MFT work as well as a 3-year old Sync system?

I'm on v3.0.2. I believe, and I haven't had any major issues until now. Last week I got the dreaded "Sync by Microsoft - Performing Scheduled System Maintenance" message one afternoon - just out of the blue. And then this past Saturday night, while needing the NAV, the whole system froze while driving thru the worst part of LA. And I did pull over, shut off the car and the system would not shutoff. The radio continued to play, even though we all got out of the car, and locked the doors (we prayed it would unlock and start again - it did). But the system stayed frozen in time - could not change the radio stations or functions, nothing responded with the MFT system. Got home, and I was about to pull some fuses to shut it off when the MFT reset and displayed the dreaded "Sync By Microsoft - Performing Scheduled System Maintenance" message again.

Happens to me on pretty much every road trip now.
