Have you tried a master reset? Before you do, unplug all USB devices.

I'm guessing that's what happens every time it crashes. Everything gets wiped and I have to start from scratch. Wonder if the last crash wiped my thumb drive too...

Headed to pick up my '12 ti from the dealer. They replaced the APIM, saying:

"the APIM was not communicating at all, but the tech has been testing the newly installed APIM & it is working great."

I brought the car in last week to have the latest FSA recall installed on the DCT & while I was there I mentioned that the MFT was still giving me some issues even after the v3 update. I mentioned this just to get my complaint documented with Ford, not realizing that the dealer could really do anything to fix it. I don't know if the APIM replacement will do any good but here's hoping...

I havent had any major issues since the v3 install. Only 2 quirks, one being sometimes when I turn on the radio the volume is like off the charts. Im afraid it will blow a speaker. One time I had an issue with the entertainment section not displaying.

Is there some setting that causes my radio/audio system to come on every time I start my car? I frequently shut the car off with the radio off but every time I start the car it comes back on.

Just happens like that sometimes, some people report it more frequently than others, it happens to me on occasion as well.

This is not a sometimes thing -- it comes on every time I start the car.

I suggest taking it to the dealer. The problem needs to be documented. Such documentation will help push Ford to develop a solution. My service rep also recommended this. I had similar problems with my MFT & took it to the dealer. They replaced the APIM & so far the MFT is much more responsive & glitch-free, although I haven't been able to drive it a lot since picking it up. I will bring it back to the dealer if I experience problems again.

Dropping mine off for a new APIM tonight. I'm not going to be able to pick it up until Friday night but I'm hoping it helps......

I've actually had the opposite. I have gone to shut the music off before shutting down but have been unable to get it to turn off (with either the screen or the physical button). Quite rare though, it has only happened to me about 3-4 times.
