Nope, nope and nope. I'm just not one to get all worked up in a tizzy about small issues and things I can't really control. I believe Ford is working on getting it right, but had to bring out a non-finished product because of the constant customer complaints and whining. JMHO.

I don't have Nav and I don't use BT for audio.

Yep, I had a 2010 Fusion with the older Nav system an it was rock solid. That's why many of us can't fathom how we took a step back with MFT. If it doesn't provide stability, no one cares about the advantages of MFT over the old system.

Why don't we keep comments like that out of the forum.
No reason to freak out. I didn't have a cow when you put the (helpful) petition on "change.org". I'm an Independent who leans to the [e*n*c*r*p*t*e*d]. I love to talk politics but am not a ranter and don't come to FF for it. I think he was just trying to be funny (or get a rise out of someone...oops)

That is easy to do on this forums lol. Some people get defensive like as if this car is their ugly baby everyone is pointing at.

So I got my first maintenance display screen on MFT a while ago. Freaked me out, to be honest, coz the screen froze for about 10 mins then the maintenance screen appeared.

Anyway, I noticed after the maintenance, the entertainment quadrant keeps showing "building voice commands" and when I click somewhere else, it changes to "indexing complete". Just took delivery of the Focus a little over a week ago and im just curious if this normal? I remember someone posting this problem before but I dont remember where I saw it or if there was a fix for it.

It is not supposed to happen but unfortunately it is certainly not abnormal behavior. When dealing with your music the system goes through two steps - indexing first and then building voice commands second. Depending on how much music you have this may be quick or take quite some time. When everything is indexed you can still browse through your music on the screen and play whatever you want but until building voice commands is complete, you cannot play anything by voice.

Thanks! Btw, I use a USB to play music. Will it be faster to go through the steps if I had a better quality USB? Will switching to a bluetooth device or memory card be better?

Hmmm, I can't really speak to that. My card slot is tied up with the Nav card and I only use BT for streaming Pandora and Slacker. I currently have a 120gb iPod that I run full time through one USB port. I have a little over 6300 songs on there. If I recall, after the update, it took about 15-20 minutes to index/build voice commands (just to give you an idea of time).

If I remove the iPod and don't change anything on it and then plug it back into the car, it starts the indexing/voice command process again but seems to figure out nothing has changed and the message goes away pretty quickly. Changing anything, though, even adding one song, and it does the entire index/build voice commands process all over again in full.

Several others on here play their music off of USB drives and I'm sure can chime in and let you know some of the ones that seem to perform better.

Thanks a lot. I only have more or less 30 songs in my usb and it took more than 20mins to finish and it isn't even done when I left my car. I'll try switching the USB drive and see if it changes anything. It's not a big deal but it really slows down MFT, so if anyone can help, I would gladly accept it :)
