I've only had my car for a few weeks -- it came installed with MFT 3.0. I sympathize with those of you who feel you lost features.. that sucks. But I drove almost 800 miles today and I'd be hard pressed to say anything specifically bad about the MFT system. Other than the very-very-very occasional audio skip, I can't report any negative issues. As a software developer, I recognize there may be some defects but they're all minor in nature AFAIK. I hope everyone gets their issues resolved, but I'm more than pleased with my Focus and MFT.

If Ford chose functionality over features, I feel they made the right choice.

With the nav, is there any way to stop it from pointing out seemingly random surrounding streets from the direction I'm heading? Or disabling that 2nd window that appears to show a more detailed turn or highway exit?

As far as I know, the second window (for the exit or turn) only appears when I'm using the trip navigation function (as opposed to just the map) and only if the exit or turn is part of my route. Given that, I want the second map since it gives me more detail as to the upcoming exit or turn I'm supposed to make.

You can disable the split map/next exit view by pressing the View button in the top right corner.

Now, what I can't figure out is how to get the map to stop displaying pedestrian paths that look the same as roads.

Ok, so here I am with my impressions : the MFT v3.0 is better in some areas (like start speed, bluetooth, layout) and worse in other areas ==> since this morning it crashed (meaning I have an image I had on my rear cam as "wallpaper" and radio's runnig one station only - but I can control the audio though) . I cannot do nothing to it and it doesn't want to do its System Reset thing. I tried pulling the fuse 79 - no succes. I did pull it only for some seconds though. I NEVER had to do that in the version 2.11 and even though I experienced a couple of "black screens of death" in the 2.11, everything came back in less than 3 minutes.
I might have to disconnect the battery - another first for me since I have the car (8 month already). So yes, it's sure, Ford should work a bit harder on the updates of the MFT system and I am looking forward for them.
P.S. I tried to use the USB to force the reset of the MFT (no luck).

Edit : I disconnected the battery and everything is back now.

That's unfortunate, Voldar... I hope the fisheye view of your driveway made for a nice background while driving

Glad you managed to correct it. What's sad is that you have to... what if you didn't know how these things worked? Like my parents, they wouldn't figure out what to do when it freezes up.

Bummer on the total crash but good to know the battery disconnect worked for you. I have had two crashes since the update but both times it did manage to reboot (oops, I mean it was just "scheduled maintenance") on its own.

In the future, pull fuses 67 AND 79. Also, leave them out for a min or two till the capacitors dissipate and it can fully power down. The battery cable works but it's overkill and it resets other engine computers that then have to re-learn/calibrate. Not a tragedy but the fuses that control Sync and MFT is a more surgical approach.

At least until Ford has the sense to add a hard reboot. They keep suggesting Master Reset (since there is not other option) but this is a pain because it caused settings to wipe. I never see loss of config on the fuse pull. Were you using the delayed reboot cab from the Edge site (that you said did not work)? I have not tried it yet.

Yes, I tried the reboot cab from Edge site. I'll wait next time more and use the TWO fuse pull. But at least I am going to see if it is really needed to redo the learning sequence for the DCT.

Does anyone have an issue with USB, specifically Ipod, only displaying the album title and genre when playing a song? I'm certain the tags are all correct.

For example, it displays:

ALBUM TITLE
Genre

Instead of:

ALBUM TITLE
Song Title
