Yeah after my update last week mine stopped working also. I must say I am pretty shocked at poorly this touch system and the programming for it works. I would have likely passed on this car had I known all the issues before hand.

I don't think this is a MFT issue. I've got a Jan 2012 build Titanium. Still running original version of MFT. Just drove it in the rain and the headlights did not come on with the rain sensing wipers. Steady rainfall. I not sure MFT has anything to do with this.

Are your wipers set on intermittent? From the owner's guide:

"Rain-sensing wipers (if equipped)

"The rain-sensing wipers will automatically activate when moisture is
present on the windshield and control is intermittent operation position.
Adjust the rotary control to the desired moisture sensitivity settings. The
speed of the rain-sensitive wipers will vary based on the amount of
moisture detected on the windshield and the sensitivity setting. There
are no interval (intermittent wipe) settings on vehicles with rain-sensing
wipers. The wipers will continue to wipe as long as the presence of
moisture is detected on the windshield. More or less wiping may occur
depending on humidity, mist or light rain, or road spray.

"Keep the outside of the windshield clean, especially the area around the
rear view mirror where the sensor is located or rain sensor performance
may be affected.

"Note: During winter driving conditions with ice, snow or a salty road
mist, inconsistent or unexpected wiping or smearing may occur. In these
conditions, you can lower the sensitivity to reduce the amount of
smearing or override the feature by selecting low- or high-speed wiping
or turning the wiper system off.

"Note: The wipers must be turned off before entering a car wash."

Headlamps:

"Note: If the vehicle is equipped with autolamps, it will have the
headlamps on with windshield wipers feature. If the windshield
wipers are turned on, the exterior lamps will turn on with the headlamp
control in the autolamp position."

a little update, i spent the whole day at my local ford service dept. having them look at my issue (seen below).

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

the tech i was talking to was knowledgeable about the quirks of mft, though he'd never seen my exact issue.

he did what i couldn't do on my own and wiped the system and set it to what it would've been if it rolled off the assembly line with mft v 3.

short story, it worked.

i encourage ANYONE doing the upgrade to remove ALL prior voice tags.

also, a hard reset (disconnecting the batter for over an hour) WILL not work (at least not when i did it - and i disconnected the positive AND negative terminal).

if you still have voice tags set to your favorites, your dealer SHOULD be able to do a wipe, they did it with my focus.

lastly, ford knows about not being able to put spaces in names you give to favorites, they said they'll release an update to correct the issue... for now use "_".

hope this helps some people.

Here's a new one... and potentially a troublesome bug.
Neighbor knocked on my door just now, said I left my radio on.
I was home about 30 minutes after a drive.
I don't think I did anything out of the ordinary to cause this. I just listened to music over BT on the way home as usual, paused playback, turned off car, removed key... as usual. I don't recall seeing if the MFT went through the shutdown procedure or not. I just know what music wasn't playing after I hit pause.

Anyways, I went out right after he told me... saw immediately the MFT lit up. Hear the radio loud. No key in or anything. It went to HD radio, which the system will do by default. Low battery warning up in the driver's info panel.
Me, pissed as ever. Now worried one morning I'm not going to start my car because of a dead battery. Do I have to start walking out at night to make sure my radio doesn't come on automatically?

I don't think I have ever regretted a purchase this much in my life. I bought this car in hopes of having something I could rely on to get to work every morning, and now I have to worry about radio turning itself on and draining my battery in the middle of the night.

I've had this happen, too. I left my BT audio on a fairly high volume when parking at work. Could hear it thumping from inside the building. Took me 10 mins to realize it was my car. It started about 5-10 minutes after I got there.

Now I have an OCD habit of turning the volume down to mute most times I leave the car, in case it does it again. I've never had to do that before... As far as I know, though it's only done it the once, although since I mute the audio now, I can't be certain.

I like to think the battery level protection will kick in and prevent MFT from draining it flat... but then again, I also like to think the radio will stay off when I leave the car... Maybe it gets bored?
