Fuel gauge issue.

I recently got a 2011 Ford Focus and I've noticed after I got gas yesterday, it was at full after I left the gas station and headed to my next destination. After I turned on my car for the second time, it went to half a tank and 231 miles until empty (it was 358 miles until empty when I left the gas station). I had a few places to go and it kept jumping from full to a half a tank to full again. I'm not sure if I'm the only one having issues or if I should take my car in. Any suggestions?
