Interesting. So it looks like there are some allen heads on that CFM-labeled flange... Does that mean you can adjust the height from THERE (i.e. not have to muck around under the shift boot to do so)? Or did you choose to leave that exposed - I mean I suppose you could have zip-tied the boot ABOVE that flange and closer to the knob, right?

Stupid, obvious questions, I guess. Sorry. But thanks in advance for answering 'em.

I chose to leave most of the CFM shifter exposed (its pretty); I could have zip-tied the boot closer to the knob, but I like it much better where it is now. Also I grasp the lower part of the shifter while shifting sometimes, so my fingers rest on the flange. But you are correct; the allen set screws are where you adjust the height from.

Thanks for the answers - and I agree that it's pretty. (REALLY pretty, actually.)

See here:
"How To" Getrag Shift Linkage-Adjustment

Reverse was a bit "tight" for me for a couple weeks after the shifter install, but it never just wouldn't go in to gear.
You gotta give the shifter a pretty good "pop" with the palm of your hand to get it to go far enough left to hit the reverse gate.
It's that way for most whether it's the stock shifter or a STS.

I've got a nice problem. I picked up the CFM sts and the install went wrong when I went to put the shifter back in. The white shift cable does not fit inside of the ball on the bottom of the shifter. When I push the cable onto the ball it seems that the ball is not big enough and the cable falls right off. Has anyone experienced this problem?? I'm going to post in the cfm section too but they are closed on the weekends. Could they have possibly accidentally put the wrong sized ball on the bottom of the shifter?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
