Is the Amplifier a seperate unit on these cars, which radio do you Have ?
This explanation sounds pretty plausible as I had the above happen on a couple occasions to my previous car (just the obnoxious noise part); of course I instantly tracked the problem to my jerry-rigging set-up of the stereo system. Nowadays I'm able to admit that I'm not brilliant when it comes to installing stereos and amps, so I'm content to leave them stock.

Here's the audio and video

Here's the Youtube audio and video I bookmarked from a post here about it. Search is not turning up the thread for me at the moment but I know it had the words "loud drumming" in it.

I have had this happen twice now. It sounded like the speakers were going to blow. I opened the trunk and the sub was pounding away. It is very strange to have your car freak out like that!

I had just opened the door to get something out of the back seat. Starting and stopping the car did not do anything to make it stop. It continued for 3 or 4 minutes. I was getting ready to disconnect the battery when it finally stopped.

If anyone figures out what is up, please let us know.

^^^^ there are a few threads already on this. At the moment the best guess is the audio driver not loading upon mft boot. If so, it could be fixed with an up coming update, although Ford is so secretive who knows.

I have showed the youtube video of this freaky thing to 3 different dealers and none of them had a single clue of it was. I personnally had this occurence twice so far. Probably some kind of computer bug with MFT or conflict with the radio. Who knows...

Also had a similar event a couple months ago.

I touch the drivers door handle to unlock it and the front passenger door started thumping loudly and rapidly like someone was beating on the door. The noise then moved to the rear door passenger side, then the rear door drivers side, and finally the drivers door.

This all lasted about 10-seconds and the wife and I are backed far away from the car thinking it was going to explode or something. The wife refused to get in the car for awhile.

It sounded like the solenoid actuators in the door making the noise.
